i hear all the forums i hear about tapes...What is a tape. I know it gets your crafting up, but how do i get one and what do i do with it...

how much would the tapes that bring me from 10pt. to 12pt. cost?

They can be looted from NPCs, piles,rubbish,magnaseals, and the auction forums.
drag them onto a peice of clothing that has a socket, one socket for one tape.Do a search at the bottom of the page for "Ca attachment help" for a more detailed explanation if you havent already..

he's not fibbin ya. i got 55MILL in my +20ptexperimentation/ +20pt Assembly suit for armorsmith.
FYI: an oops to avoid. (i did this as a noob. thank god!!! not on experimentation tapes)
Say you have a +1 Armor Experimentation Tape and a +3 Experimentation Tape. do NOT put them both into the same socketed item. they will not add up to +4. the +3 will just override the +1 and you will end up with only a +3 socketed item (ie. say a shirt) you have to spread the tapes across multiple socketed items that you can wear at one time. you cant buy 20 +1 tapes to get to 12pt armorsmith because you cant wear enuff items. ive got mine spread across 7 socketed items.
Boots, Pants, Shirt, Jacket, Gloves, Belt, and Bandolier
If i'm off on this anyone, please verify

WHAT?? 50 million???? to get from 10 pt. to 12pt.???? HOLY @#$^ i only have a 100k....

Cost differs across servers, but expect it to cost many millions like the above posters have indicated. I've noticed a slightly declining trend in AS tapes lately though (on my server, anyways).
I got lucky with mine...a +24 CA for 38 million

We all have been there coming up.
I ground 30 Kinetic Ubese and sold it on the bazaar at like 3K for gloves and bracers. Jackets for 6K, the rest for 5K each to build up some cash to start better armors. I was running survey missions for hours to get cash. It was a lot of work, but if it had been easy, i woulda quit the game a long time ago.
