My Dear Good Armorsmiths,
I have read through many message threads here in your forum but remain less than 100% sure I have gleaned the full answer to by questions about the use of Armored Belts to house my AA's.
To wit; I have a couple of expensive (for me anyway) AA's that I would like to wear and being able to place these on a belt would be just right for me style-wise. However I have a few questions I still see conflicting information about and I hope you all can set me straight.
Question 1 ) Is it true that Padded and Mabari Armor Belts are "indestructible" because they do not get hit during combat? And if they are not indestructible, how high a condition is it reasonable for be to expect my local AS to be able to create for me so as to give the AA the longest life possible.
Question 2 ) Indestructible or not, are there any other considerations that I need to take into account when asking an AS to create this for me?
Question 3 ) Is it true that wearing an armor belt creates a vulnerability at that location such that if I do wear a belt, I had better get a really good one and should expect to start taking damage via that location?

Question 4 ) Is the choice between Padded and Marbari belts simply one of style or is one clearly superior to the other for reasons I have not thought to ask?
Any assistance the fine and well mannered members of this august profession should deem to supply would be most appreciated.

I know it was already answered.
I just wanted to say,...... I like that guy.
He says nice things about us and asks questions I can actually understand.
[is hopped up on DayQuil today and is correspondingly silly]

1) mabari belts currently currently do not have a condition value, meaning theyare indestructible. they don't decay upon cloning or from battle. padded belts do have a condition, which can be reduced upon cloning if uninsured. a padded belt made with acklay hides can get to 50-60k or more condition, depending on the quality of the hides.
2) make sure it has 4 sockets, that way you can add the maximum amount of AA's to it.
3) to my understanding, the belt area is not damageable in battle, and therefore, does not create an armorhole. however, i'm not positive about this. psg's when equipped take up the belt slot, and they definitely do decay in battle, but i don't think this holds true for belts.
4) because mabari belts are currently invincible, most people tend to use these as opposed to padded belts. ubese shirts used to be this way as well, but they were recently "nerfed" and now have 1000 condition when you craft them. i would assume the devs will do this with the mabari belts as well at some point, but who knows. regardless, prenerf ubese shirts are still indestructible, so i would assume mabari belts will be as well.
