read the clicky in my sig
hope that helps
it has step by step crafting tips
p.s. interwoven will help tons
this is the guide I followed....in face when I followed it verbatim my results where worse (80% kin / 50% Base), althought I was using lesser resources. This time around I dumped nothing into HAM and everything spare into base, and got my afformentioned results. This is why I'm asking for help ![]()
Also....I'm trying to tweak my RIS recipe to be as good as possible before investing in interwoven. I suspect I'd want to hit at LEAST 70% base on non interwoven before going interwoven...or at least somewhere in that range. ESPECIALLY when I'm using some of the BEST EVER spawned resources. Thanks tho.

2x kinetic layers and 1x janta hide (or rancor hide)
make sure you are using double amazing kinetic layers (layers made by getting an amazing on experimenting on base and on kinetic resists). If you have 12 experimentation points you should be able to use layers something in the range of 11% kin 4% base. I would rather use these than a 14% kin 2% base, because it is easy to overshoot the kinetic resists and the extra base is helpful. I personally wouldnt use any janta/rancor if it is less than 4%, but use what you have.
for experimentation max special (kin/bottom row) on seg then dump everything into base (middle row), if you have anything remaining put them into HAM
On final combine you will prob only need like 3-4 points in special to hit 80% so don't over shoot it. Once you are at 80% kin dump everything into base. If you have anything less lower the HAM (most 12 pointers will have a few left over to dump into HAM)
after you have a made a few with this method, you should know what your resources are capable. You want to just touch 80% kin so that you can get the max possible base. You can dump more into base on segment, after you know what your resources are capable of. You can get 80% kin 75%+ base pretty easy using this method, even using a standard janta hide. Try upping the quality of your resources if you can. This will be a bit heavier RIS but the resists look nice and it can slice to 90% base without too many problems.
if you are not a 12 point smith yourbase will be lower. This formulauses 11% kin 4% base kinetic layers, that is 4 points higher base right there, andit should not be difficult at all tofind something better than a 3% janta hide, just ask around or post on your trade forums.
If you can not make 11% kin 4% base layers, talk to some other 12 point smiths and see if they will get you some layers

Regular RIS Crafting (noninterwoven)
Well, there really isnt a lot to this I don't think at least. First off, I would recommend just forget about acid and stun right off the bat. If you want to try to tackle that you need to do interwoven.
Really only 2 decent versions of regular RIS 80% kin/high base or 80% kin, low HAM
80% kin/80% base unsliced
this is what you should work towards. Don't worry about HAM, it will be lighter than your cmoposite counterparts. This can be made one of two ways.
version one [the no brainer version]
2x kinetic layers and 1x janta hide (or rancor hide)

that one. only change was i experimented base on seg not HAM

I don't think you have made any mistakes with the helmet [if you not counting in having just amazing successes all the time?] . If you have done the armor with an interwoven schematic you have likely hit 80%base too (adding a cube and an extra layer).

i agree the guide is great....my problem is my results when following the guide. I musta made a mistake somewhere

my wording was a little confusing
my apologies, the RIS guide was edited.
put a few points into special on seg, rest into BASE (not HAM)
get some better kin layers and a better hide and you will be good to go
better as in what. im using 3/11 now...would 4/11 make all the difference?
