Hi people.

I have just bought two ADKs and want to buy a chest peice and helmet to put them on. The main problem is that I use cybernetic arms and so my choice of torso armor is extremly limited. As i am going to use ADKs on these peices I obviously want them to be of as high a quality as possible. Money is not an issue (I have several million) and if required, I can go out and hunt down whatever componants are required.

What would you all suggest I ask a Master Armorsmith to make for me?

Odds are an experienced smith will not need the resources you are offering as (s)he'll already have top of the line stuff stockpiled. For Recon class and cybernetics you will have to use tantel as that's the only type that has a chest piece that has no biceps attached....... either that or faction armor... that would work too. As for prices, check the "who's who" thread in the stickies for an AS on your server or wander over to your trade forums for a price as it varies from server to server.

Depends on what you want to use it for.

If your armor is meant to protect you from glow-stick wielding badgers and you don't hunt kinetic mobs, go for energy layered recon (shameless off-topic advertisement: Of which I have the best on Kettemoor :-D ), but if you wan't an allround-suit of armor find some capped or primus layered tantel.

Oh, yeah, Tantel is your only choice of non-faction armor - you can put the adk's on scout trooper armor too, but if you choose to mod it with AA's those will beworthlessif you ever change armoras you can't tradefactionto someone else.

Im looking for all round armor really as I dont fight Jedi all that often apart from the odd GCW skirmish and then i tend to be 80m away so I'm relativly safe!

Is there any advantage to factional armor over Tantel? (im Rebel if that makes any differance)

It should have higher condition. That's it. It will cost you a significant number of faction points to put it on.

The best all-around armor choices are probably either battle armor or assault armor backed up by a good PSG. Depends on what you're certified for.

Yeah, that is about it I'm pushing out 64+K condition on Rebel Marine (7K Energy Recon) and I'm not maxing out the condition. It only comes in one color too... and if he is going to ADK it the max condition is not that big of a thing.

Tantel and faction recon-armors have seperate chestplates / arms.

Well, so does wookie and ithorian armors, but I think you're not looking for those

a friend of mine had a similar problem.

So he put on the tantel and his other arm bugged out so he was running around with an invisible arm ending in a glove.

Funny to look at especially when he picked up a pistol and started fighting.

I like the idea that you can't wear armour over a cyberarm but you should be able to wear clothing over it.

Silly rules where thats concerned as in all the films the cyberwear is covered by clothes.
