Ok I have done quite a bit of reading on here trying to find the answers I was looking for but just cant seem to find them.
I was wanting to know what is required to get and make faction armor? From what I can gather you need to purchase the schematics from a recruiter and then just have a smith make them? How many schematics to do you get and what is the faction point cost?
Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Only a Master Armorsmith can purchase the schematics. The faction cost varies on were you buy it. Some planets will be cheaper because that faction controls it.
I bought schematics last night on a planet controled by my faction and they were 1330 for the arms, legs and helm and 2660 for the chest. Gloves and boots were under 1000, just don't remember that exact number. So it's about 12k FP for a set of schematics that are good for 10 sets.

Was this REbel or Imperial and what rank are you? I'm an Imp Sgt. and went to check out prices last night. ON a Rebel controlled planet it was 3k for the arms, helm, and leggings, 6k for the chest, and 750 for the gloves/boots. So over 25k in FP at the Sgt. level.

I am a rebel colonel but I am not an armorsmith. I am wanting to get with an armorsmith to work out a deal for a few suits so was wanting to get as much info as I could.
Thanks for the replies

You either have to have enough rank to hold the amount of FP you intend to spend, or just have your customer feed you the faction as you purchase. i'm a corporal, so i had to have my customer feed me the faction a few times. be sure to let your customers know that it costs 1k of their faction to bio-link each piece of the armor too! 9k total faction to link the whole suit.

Ok another question for you guys if you dont mind. I assume that each set of ten schematics is for one type of armor only correct? So if you were wanting to get a set of Assault and a set of Recon you would have to buy two different sets of schematics?

ya it cost me like 2k faction per bracer/bicep/pant/helm, 4k chest, 500 boot/hands..... human imp colonel on imperial naboo :/
and yes, considering the time it takes to handcraft each suit and the amount of resources that go into advanced cores I think your're selling yourself short at 700k... mine are basically twice that on naritus and they are very close to the 6kcap (5919 battle etc)

Yep, you have to buy all the scheamtics for assualt, battle and recon. Total of 30 schematics if you buy the belts.

Master Armorsmiths who are also Master Smugglers are best suited to make the factional armor, as they can obtain the schematics quite cheaply.
I'm on Starsider, human, rebel, and I obtained schematics (10 uses) for a full suit of Rebel Battle Armor for ~8000 FP. By bribing the recruiter, I bought all that faction for 640000 credits.
This was on a Rebel controlled planet with the Cries of Alderaan bonus giving me a little extra faction when bribing.
The additional cost to me, per faction suit, is only 64,000 credits. Of course my time isn't cheap, but being a Master Smuggler I'll have a little more wiggle room with costs should I decide to put faction armor up on sale. Something between 64,000 to 100,000 credits extra for faction suits would be my wiggle room. 64,000 would be "at cost", and 100,000 would be "fair market value".
