Guys,

I have looted a BUNCH of these Battle cores with various stats (the most important of which seems to be hinderance when I examine). Anyways, the hindrance #s range from 15 to hi 20s...are they worth anything to an Armorsimth and what do they do?

Thanks for the help,

Well yes and no... yes if someone wants cheap armor.. like for noobs.. No if you want good armor.. Honestly my advice is give um to an armorer. or find an armorer that wants to make cheap armor for noobs, or put um on the bazzar for cheap.

Right now though armorers are soo swamped that cheap armor is not gonna happen. But maybe you can find some armorers that are just getting in and dont have the resources to make good stuff and can make cheap suits..

Just my 2 cents

Essentially, if those looted cores are used to make armor... the final stats of the armor will be exactly 400 higher to each stat. I've seen a few Advanced Cores that weren't too bad, but99% of the time, AS's will be able to craft better ones from scratch. The point about the lower ones being good for noobs is valid, as the armor made from the looted cores should be VERY inexpensive in comparison to "top of the line" stuff.

Would be nice if the Dev's gave us rareloot that was better then what crafters could make... <sigh>

Whats the point in loot if its crap and crafters can make better versions...

i agree with the fellow smiths , some cores are actually halfway decent but well below what a smith can construct himself , some ppl are requesting factional suits though and want em for more of a " display " or " fashion " function , hindaracnce is more of a non master elite worry far as i know not to many smiths are worrying about hindarance just yet over the armors overall stats , we are relearning the game so to speak , but yes throw them on the bazarr i guarantee ull get a buyer

The issue is that these cores do not enhance what we make, theyREPLACEwhat we make. Armor cores are basically the finished armor minus the "look" of the type of armor you want to wear. If all the cores that were looted were better than ours, there would be no point in us making ANY of the sub-componenets, and the few remaining armorsmithsthat are trying to stick it outwould not be around long. Armorsmith would then truely be a dead profession. All we would be doing is asking what colors and patterns you wanted, which just sounds alot like being a tailor. (no offense to Tailors, I used to be one)

One of the joys of armorsmithing used to be the challenge of figuring out how to maximize the resists/encumbrance/condition of the armor using the best possible resources and the occasional awesome loot drop. This often required alot of thought, lots of calculation of the various components to ensure you didn't waste experimentation points, and separated the "good" armorsmiths from the "great" armorsmiths. Much of that now, sadly, is a thing of the past. What I WOULD like to see is large stacks of looted layers with kinetic/energy resists. Kinetic and Energy layers bascially max out at +100/-100 (with PERFECT resources), mid to high 80's is more realistic. When used as an optional component in segments, thesecan add a decent amount of resistance to the final piece... not a ton, but enough to give the power-gamers the slight edge they want/need. While we can make these layers ourselves, many of us do not do so at this time because they nearly TRIPLE the number of resources needed to make armor, substantially add to factory time (roughly 11-12 hours per suit), and therefore increase the cost of the armor 2-3 times. Now, if layers with kinetic/energy resists were able to be looted, this could really be a good thing. It would put some of the challenge and fun back into being an armorsmith. Let's say you brought us a few stacks of some awesome layers (+129/-130) or so. We may have to think again and go.... "Hmmmm... based on the resources I have... if I use all of these layers THIS way, I'll hit the cap (whatever that might be)and waste some points. BUT... if I only used 3 of these looted layers in here, and added some of the Primus layers I have here that I made yesterday, I would get right to that same kinetic cap, but I'd also be able to raise energy a bit, and since I didn't have to really add much factory time or resources, I dont need to charge nearly as much as a fully layered suit normally costs."

Sorry, got a bit off the subject there, but I had to let it out. To backtrack and summarize, if all the looted armor cores were better than we can make, you would bring them to us, and our "skill" for the rest of the transaction would be the equivalent of asking: "Would you like fries with that?"

theres always the offset chance that "exceptional " may drop at some point , just like before ud get the 46%+ composite segs maybe we'll get some 9000 and hit the " 10k " cap ...ohhh to get my hands on those.......
