Well, since nobody can make any armor, let me pick your brains.

I'm a pretty new armorsmith, and have seen people talking about making factory runs of armor. I've been making my suits by hand, since people request different colors. Is there any reason I should be making suits by factory run now, or is that only for when I'm cranking out huge amounts of armor?

Many of the resources that are available now are frankly pretty crappy, so I'm kind of holding out for any huge crafting runs until I get a full complement of good materials. Is that ever going to happen, or am I going to be waiting around for months? Should I just make do with the best materials currently available, even if it isn't as good as the resources the veteran Armorsmiths have stockpiled?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

if you want to keep a stocked vendor, then factories save you both time and effort, as it doesnt have to be a specific colour

Yes, yes. If you want to and can still turn a profit. It took me around 6 months of gathering spawns before I was able to make decent armor the first time. I don't know if it'll take longer for me to re-gather good materials to make stuff at cap. But I am satisfied that some of my stuff is around 5900+. And that is my personal goal, to keep my unlayered armor at 5900+.

I have been toying around with the idea of using all the crap resources I've got now and seeing if I can make a pile of grinding suits at 5000+ base. It should be possible to do with all the crap resources around, but the questions I've got are, will it sell, and will I be happy putting out a knowningly inferior product even at a reduced price?

i planned to do some factory runs, untill i got aware of the color bug, sure ppl want custom jobs and ill do that too, but some ppl just want armor nomatter what the looks and those will get served too if you stock the vendor with lots of armor.

One the color bug is fixed, i will again have 2 choices of color per armor type and always have make custom orders of any type on request. Personally I hate hand crafting more than 3-4 suits a day, but that is just me. I find that faction (i stock rebel and imperial) and ris keeps my handcrafting time pretty busy without worrying about having to color other suits too.
