AS's used to be able to make boots and gloves with sockets, but since they don't give protection anymore (through combat upgrade I think), they are uncraftable with sockets.

What you're seeing when you see socketed tantel boots is either pre CU tantel boots or pre CUbootsthat were refitted to become tantel. Boots and gloves don't have sockets now. I think pre CU boots and gloves with sockets will be quite valuable. I've tested them, and they still take armor attachments just fine.

Not to mention they have a very high condition (usually round 40K+ vs 100/100)
Personally I immediately pulled all my sockted belts/shirts/boots/gloves after the CU hit. As they cant really be replaced now.

What you can do is try to buy some 4 socket pre-cu composite boots (or glaves).
use those 4 sockets with the attachments you have and then refit them to tantel boots. They become 100/100 condition and have the skill enhancements without the risk of decaying through combat. best way to protect your AAs
