Thread: Ugh, is there any fun to be had in holo-grinding?

So, I started my grind last night.

I bought my tools, a crafting station and a wearables factory.I got an initial run of armorweave segments going. I found a synth cloth supplier. I have many but not all of the other resourcesI will need. I sat down and got to work.

I made 5 mabari chest peices and was so bored that I stopped playing the game, by choice, for the first time sinceI isntalled it and watched TV.

I am no crafter and this is not gonna be any fun for me.

There has to be other folks here that felt the same way I do. Any help?

Wait for the Jedi revamp? Otherwise Mabari shirts are about as fast as you can do it.

If you find it so boring you might want to wait for the jedi revamp (whenever that happens). If 5 chestplates are all it takes to bore you, you're going to kill yourself trying to hit master.

No macro here. Did mabari chestplates on practice until 3/0/0/4, then started business. Got to 4/4/2/4 and couldn't fight the urge to master.

I know the original poster is asking about holo-grinding, but I'd reccomend that a true armorsmith take their time. There's a lot to learn at the lower levels, and taking it slow gives you time to build up a decent resource base. Besides, crafting composite is almost a craft to itself - my head was swimming last night while I worked on the stats for my first run of comp.

True. If you hate it now, you will really hate master. There is so much more to AS than Mabari chest plates. Lots and lots of testing of layers and segments. The fustration of failing on your uber RIS or nNS layers/shards you paid out the butt for.

Fun stuff.

I guess thats the other dis-heatening part, it seems like such a monumental waste. This stuff is expensive but, seeing as how I am more interested in blowing through this as soon as possible than becoming a skilled professional, I see very limited opportunity to get any of my money back.

I guess I should have just waited for the jedi revamp but, I hate sitting around for so long spinning my wheels, making no progress toward my goal.

Ah well, its just a game

I understand TK, and I don't blame you for grinding. Its the system we have now so people are going to do it. I have several combat friends who have had to do crafting professions and weren't too happy with it either. For what its worth you seem to have the set up right. If you are going to do it, its not gonna go much faster than what you are doing. I dont know what to say about getting money back. You could put them on the bazaar for like 500cr each and see if they sell any.

I owe whatever speed I make it through this with to the great help I got from the posters of this forum (especially the holosmith thread).I can't bear to imagine how difficult this would have been had it not been for all of you guys sharing your knowledge here.

I thank you all very much.
