I'm a Droid Engineer trying to sell my ware. I am working on my merchant skills, and was wandering how Advertising 3 works? I have it trained and set my vendor to advertise, but the next time I logged on it was not listed on the map. The vendor said it was registered, but was not showing up on the map. Is this a bug, the way it was designed, or something else?

Its broke, you need to unregester and reregister every morning, and after impromptu server reboots.

I finished grinding out armorsmith a little more than a week ago, and now finally have enough quality resources to make some fairly good recon armor. What I'm trying to figure out is a good scheme for putting that armor on my vendor. It makes sense to me to put full suits in labeled backpacks and sell them that way, but I don't think people will look for backpacks of armor on the global vendor search.

How do you organize your vendor for convenience and searchability?

i sell all mine in backpacks, makes it easier and, there will be less complaints from customers or having them ask if they can sell back a left bracer because they bought two of that instead of a right one.

as for the advertising, there are other ways to do than relying on people seeing in on the galaxywide vendor search, just make sure your name is seen often, and even word of mouth brings sales

They are searchable but not that easily, you could always keep set in back packs, and stock some loose parts to enable people to find them on the vendor search, but i've found that people generally will buy a set in parts before they will by a set in a pack, hence why i dont stock armor in packs anymore. Makes it a little hard to keep things restocked, but my customers seem happy enough and i get quite a lot of repeat business.

If you go down this route I can highly recommend swgmail.com, very handy for keeping track of vendor mails, you customers, what sells from what vendor, which makes it a complete doddle to keep vendors stocked.

I sell just about all my armor in packs, an easy way to let folks know that the armor is in bags is tomake a armor segment and name it with an explanation that your armor is in packs and put it next to your vendor and you can also state that it is in packs in any auction ad that you use. Be sure to be fully descriptive of the stats and type of armor thats in the bag, and if you ever rip someone on a bag purchase chances are you won't get much business from anyone afterwards.

ok what I do is I have a vendor for each type (except assault I don't make that yet).

So a vendor for: Recon, Battle, Imp Recon, and Imp Battle (last two are my faction vendors)

I also have a vendor for low condition pieces. Basically my crit fails I sell for 50% off or so.

I sell almost exclusively in backpacks and I use lots of color in the names. To get the word out spam theed, Cnet, Bestine Starports and for the love of god in your chat spam list stats of armor, condition, and price. You will get a lot more sales that way.
