Thread: I tried the stickies, but what branch should I learn first?

After several days of factory runs and crafting Mabari Chest Plates, I have finally got enough xp to get a Tier 1 box. But what should I get for grinding? I've narrowed it down to 1xxx or xx1x. i.e. More armor type choices or PSG components. Someone recommended the PSG components, but do the new armor choices give more xp?

Many thanks, sorry for being the AS noob

I found the grind to be able to learn a Tier 1 box to be overly expensive, which is why I'm wondering if I should learn xx1x and then grind up to 3xxx on PSG parts. I have no idea how much xp the parts of 1xxx and xx1x give though.

the xp is granted on how many resources you use, so you wont save money, just time.

Well, I have no idea what resources they use, but you guys recommend 1xxx to grind to 3xxx right?

Yup. Once you get ubese shirts, the grind will improve.

Personally I prefer to grind up the experimentation tree. Believe it or not there is PLENTY of work out there for an "8-pt. Armorsmith" -- Don't believe me?, just go to Mos Eisley. You can craft "decent" mabari (few masters make mabari so you aren't really competing with 10-12 pt folks.)for new players who can't afford padded and composite, and get a nice customer list started before you get to master. Sure it takes longer, but it's a much more interesting existence than making stupid Ubese shirts, you get XP when people wear your armor, you make money from what you sell to finance your resource collection, and once you are a master you actually know how to make armor so you aren't asking all kinds of embarrassing newb questions on the forums. Just my 2 cents. You will of course do what you want.

Nice idea. One thing though: You mentioned "you get XP when people wear your armor". I have heard similiar things said many times before, about food mostly. But I have never received any xp from someone eating food I made. Are you sure we get xp from people wearing our armor?

I agree that you don't have to be a master to be make armor, but the resources needed to grind experimentation first makes me cringe. Until they give us something better, I would at least go to 3xxx for the shirts and then switch to experimentation. That is what I did.

Novice Armorsmiths can make Basic Recon cores for Mabari Chestplates, Weefus.
