Hiyas all!,
Remember this is just my three wishes from a magic lamp so please NO flaming! kk ty!
Just sitting here waiting for my factory to finish making Primus so I can start runs of segments... then advanced cores... wishin I was out with my friends shootin stuff, or sitting in a cantina chatting with the other patrons, or inside decorating, or anywhere else! hehe, So I was thinking of what would make this so much better for Armor Smiths and all other crafters in general.
Mass Production!!
What doI mean you ask? Well read on and I will explain in detail!
Imagine putting your calculated raw components into say 3 different factories (1 for Layers, 1 for segments, and 1 for advanced cores), walking away, and coming back hours later with the finalAdvanced core finished!
This is what I would propose:
1.) Firstly I would like to propose Schematics being splitable in your datapad. This way I could take a 1000 schematic run and split it into 4 different 250 run pieces with the same serial number. I'm sure you might be able to guess why, if not read on and I'll explain!
2.) Secondly I would like to propose automatictransfers of componentsfromfactory A's output hopper to factory B'sinput hopper only if the factories were placed so they were touching each other (the green squares were touching.)in the overhead view when placing factories. This might be done in the radial menu of factory Aas "Dispense product to input hopper of [Factory B]" Now if Factory B was making Armor Segments and required3 Armor layers you could run Armor Layers from Factories A, C, and D into Factory B and still have 1 side of factory B left for output!

A ---> B ---> out

D
This way you could take the split Schematics from your datapad (see wish #1) and put 250 of the same serial number into factories A, C, and D and they would all produce the same Serial Layers for factory B to use in making Segments! This would make it much easier than standing around waiting to move things from one factory to the next as it's being produced. you could go do things with your friends!
On the same lines of wish 2 would be to make a "Deposit Bin" available to Masters of their trade (Master Armorsmith/Weaponsmith/shipwright/tailor etc..) to be placed in their house. Exactly like a vendor is produced from the radial menu inside a house. You select "Create a Deposit Bin" and if a factory is touching the house it places a bin in your inventory. (graphics like a chest or some other type of house container) The master crafter could then place this bin inside anywhere next to their crafting stations! This way the factory touching the house could be set up in the radial menu to deposit it's "output hopper" inside of the "bin" inside the home! and if the home was too full, it would default to the factories output hopper.
So picture this for an elaborate setup with many people placing factories for the crafter:

A ---> K<--- C

E---> J--------->M---------->P<-----------O<----------L<-----H

Home
lol.. OK.. so Factories: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I are all producing Layers and depositing them into theSegment factories.
and Factories: J, K, L are all producing segments using layers from the layer factories and sending them to the transfer factories.
Factories: M, N, O are simply spacer factories to transfer the segments to the Core factory
Factory P produces Cores and sends them to a transfer factory
Factory Q simply transfers the cores to the bin in the home!
A less elaborate setup for a solo crafter might look like:
A------>B-------->C--------->Home
So A produces Layers for B. B waits untill it gets 4 layers from A then produces a Segment for C. C waits untill it gets 3 segments from B then produces a core and sends it to the Bin in the Home.
3.) ok wish 3!! After placing all of these factories around your house and getting everything set up so it's churning like a real factory and spitting Cores into the house binit would be nice if the setup actually looked like a factory! So my wish would be that between two factorys that were mass producingthere would be a conveyer belt. (So only belts between the factories that were working together.. not all factories. 1 by itself would have no belts coming out of it.) This Belt would be non colideable so people couldn't block off land like the great wall of china, or maybe high enough that you could walk/drive underneath it. then when the factory that is outputing starts up, the conveyer belt starts to move, and the icon of whatever the outputing factory is making goes across the belt every time the factory outputs 1. (the factories would still output to factory crates, just using the icon for graphical purposes on the beltbecause I think it would be cool!)
So these are my three wishes! this way I could make schematics for everything, set up all my factories with the right number of components and go enjoy the rest of the game while it was putting advanced cores in the house bin for me to craft armor with later! or shoot, the first Time I got it running I would sit around and watch layers go across the belts from one factory to the next one at a time, and then one segment after four layers went across, and one core anfter three segents went across. That would be SO COOL to watch! hehe.
So there you have it, after three hours of typing I'm done, maybe my factories will have a couple things finished by now finally.. woohoo

nice idea, but I would rather an actual factory structure (new building) that took up say 5 lots, that you could program to do it all without having to move stuff around

I wish that I could let a BLL droid do what it's intended to do.. Move resources and factory crates.

The whole Factory idea is great.. But maybe to elaborate and complicated, But I like and wish we had it.

This is probably simple to do and easier to acomplish, and I would be happy with this working.
and I'm sure everyone else.
Great Idea Guys

Very nice idea, it would be truly awsome if something like this was implemented.
Being able to program a BLL to do the work for you seems like something that could be done like people before me already said. It would also make a new market for DE's cause which crafter wouldn't use this if it cut the total factory time in half.
If we have a wishlist for crafters going, please add this idea ![]()
