ok, somethin caught my atention in another thread....does anyone normally use just one layer of some sort, be it energy or primus, just to give their armour that bit of 'umpf' ....but doesnt cause you to raise prices....so it just looks like high end, nearly cap'd unlayered armour? and is this cost effecitve...?

I believe there are smiths that do this, and I think it's a good idea too.
Especially for newer smiths that don't have all the quality resources to hit the cap.

I cap all unlayered so I don't see the point
although I am doing a run of 4000 fairly crap energy layers (78%) to make 1000 energy layered assault segments. These will be converted into 300 or so assault cores to be used on BH armor. It won't be top of the line but still should get me 5700 or so energy for those that want energy layers but do'nt want resource kit type prices

I do this with recon, just finished a run of cores with regular recon segments : energy layered recon segments 2:1. (comes out to about 4640ish/7300ish on finished recon armor). I do charge more for these but certainly not as much as 100% layered stuff, and people love to try out something new. Now I just need some days off to craft it into some suits.

of course you don't see the point skinny you have no idea how combat works, get out there and play a combat orientated character and pvp, oh btw purge suck in pvp i've yet to be beaten, with diminishing return's there is no point in gernerally maxing layers unless it is for a specific purpose, eg krayt hunting max kinetic layers, jedi hunting max energy layers, for a tactical all round suit you could primus layers but you dont' get a huge boost to any stat but going for a 4:8 ratio of kin/en
rimus you get a big boost to a stat wihtout the negative effect of the energy/kinetic layers.

where do pvp players go for orders?
to the AS?
purge has never been pvp heavy, we have more crafters or hologrinders than pvp folks
