I have read that resources with gated stats are translated into a 1000 point scale for purposes of crafting.
My question is,does this conversionapply all gated resources even if the schematiconly requiresa generic type of that resource.
Understanding that this question is a little confusing, I will give an example:
Let's say a schematic requires Rhodium Steel, which is capped at SR 565.Presumably, if I had Rhodium Steel with an SR of 550, it would be treated as(550*1000/565) or 973 SR in figuring out the stat of the crafted component.
But what if the schematic only required Generic Steel. Since there are types of steel that can reach 1000, will my Rhodium Steel be treated as 565 SR, or will it still be treated as 973?

Good question, but no. The gated caps only apply to the specific resource. If you used your Rhodium steel in a spot that just asked for steel, then it would still be treated as 565/1000.

Like the man said, it will be treated as 565 if it asks for a generic steel.
