i am not an expert on armour in the slightest but would like to know if 7000 energy resist is the cap for battle and assault armour. also i have seen armour enhancements for resists +850 , can these be used to increase resists past 7k energyon battle or assault armours?

Unlayered Recon is 5000K 7000E 6000B

Unlayered Battle is 6000 for all

Unlayered Assault is 7000K 5000E 6000B


Common layer builds

energy layered recon 3800K 8200E 6000B

primus layered recon 5600K 7600E 5400B

energy layeredbattle 4800K 7200E 6000B

kinetic layered battle 7200K 4800E 6000B

primus layered battle 6600K 6600E 5400B

energy+primus 2+2 recon 4700K 7900E5700B (nice build cf full energy recon - drop 1% energy, 1.5% base, pick up 5% kinetic)

kinetic+primus 2+2 assault 7900K 4700E 5700B (nice build cf fullkineticasst - drop 1% kinetic, 1.5% base, pick up 5% energy)

energy+primus 2+2 battle 5700K 6900E 5700B (nice build cf full en - drop 1% energy, 1.5% base, pick up 5% kinetic)

bear in mind above that here are the caps you cannot get higher than for the positive layer protections, when you get close to this you should expect your negative layer protections to be no lower than this - for example primus layered battle energy and kinetic cap is 6600 and base will be 5400 at this energy/kinetic value, if you have less than 6600 then your base will be higher than 5400.

In short, here are the energy caps for battle and assault armor.

Unlayered Battle is 6000 for all
Unlayered Assault is 7000K 5000E 6000B

Energy layered battle 4800K 7200E 6000B
Energy layered assault 5800K 6200E 6000B

Not sure what you mean by armor enhancements for resists. All the armor enhancers currently in the game add a bonus to health, not protection.

I think the 'resist bonus enhancers' this person is talking about are actually looted segments or pre CU enhancers that converted to segments with 850 protection. These are not enhancers. They are a requiredsubcomponent of armor that any veteran smith can craftwith higher qualitythanthe listed850.

Is the segment cap for assault/battle/recon all the same? I have read all thru the FAQ and couldnt find the answer.


The reason I ask is because I ran my very first run of composite. Iused 951 segments and on the final combine I came up 70 short of the 7/5/6 cap. I started messing with battle last night and the best I can do is 947 on the segments. Is this good or will I be short of cap like I was on the composite?

Cap on segments is 1000 for all. Whether or not you'll end up short of the cap depends on how good your core resources are.
