I'm getting a suit of BH armor made. I want good resists in both kinetic and energy, and I plan to use a PSG with it once it's all done. What layers do you think I should put in it? What kind of protection would I get with primus + energy? Energy layers only?

I am ranged. I want to use the armor for BH missions and maybe PvP down the road, but still want some kinetic for when I grind FS exp.

In my opinon I would go with primus in all 4 layers. I hate energy layering assaul armor because it always comes out with stats like battle armor, and that's just one really expensive suit of battle armor. Kinetic layers are nice, but you'll lose most of your energy resists, so the best way to go, or what I would do is primus layer it to around 7500 kinetic / 5500 energy. Stick a PSG on top, and you're at around 7900 energy now. Having armor that's 7500/7900 is really nice all around.

My preference would be a6 energy6 primus core mix. The energy layer gives energy a greater boost, but the primus preventsreduceskinetic loss and gives a smaller energy boost.

my full primus build gives the following 7585K 5585E 5415B, this equals about 54.6% K, 45.8% E, 45% B,

my6 energy,6 primus build gives the following 6699K 5886E 5707B, this equals about 51.3% K, 47.3% E, 46.5% B,

a pure energy build would give the following 5812K 6188E 6000B, this equals 47% K , 48.8% E, 48% B

Of course, its dependent on your smiths layers compared to mine but I prefer to swop a few points for kinetic and give energy a little extra boost. It also depends on what you want to fight as to which might be best

Yeah, it's all a matter of preference.

You can't have the best of both worlds post-CU.

If you're a BH and can get the schematics fairly easily, why don't you get 2 suits made - 1 with Kin, 1 with En.
