Thread: Wish the Devs would make warehouse

Being a MWS/MAS/MT i get very limited vendor space and have no extra lots. i have 3 houses for storage my backpack, inventory, 3 yachts bank and 4 droids/w storage to store all my crates and resources. i have a terrible time searching for stuff being that most of my craftable items require specific resources. if the devs would make warehouses they could have a terminal like a bazaar to store my items and display there stats. Maybe then my e-mail wouldn't get flooded with vender spam as bad while searching my packs. This could even free up a couple lots for miners. i have it all planed out. It could be like a theater were you only have a small room. Maybe with a counter in the design. Through a couple decorations and a vendor for sales and i would be set.

I think we all wish that, but they never will. They call it resource hoarding. If it wasn't for being master merchant and having a storage vendor I don't know how I would run a business....and the emails when they unlist.....man alive they are annoying!

Agreed. I just went nuts recently with dropping another house that is already completely full with resources. Yes, its hoarding, but when you have to use nearly every resource in the game over a couple of the professions you have, what else are you going to do?

Need steel? Ok, got plenty of that.

NeedCARBONITE steel? Well, there's some other resource with some different stats.

Wait, you want to make primary layers? That requires NEUTRONIUM steel.

Working on your armor cores? Well, are you doing Recon (Nabooian fiberplast), Battle (Corellian) or Assault (Dathomirian)? Oh yea, those layers you wanted before also take a different kind of fiberplast. Gravitonic(sp? Doing this off the top of my head at work).

Now you want to use some of that looted stuff? Well to keep that around and not messing up your inventory completely, you're going to have to find more house space.

And just for kicks, you now get to try and figure out what resources are where, then in the middle of trying to get something crafted you get to travel between the locations instead of just having it in one location. Aside from the credit sink and taking more time to fund all those houses.

The list goes on, in one profession alone. I feel for an AS/WS mix. I do AS/Smug myself for factional deals, with a little merchant. Spices aren't bad at all for resources, so I only need the 2-3 large houses for the AS resources. Not the additional 2-3 for Weaponsmith resources.

lol, it's good to see i'm not the only person having storage problems. I reached my max on my vendors, have 3 houses filled with resources and another 2 hold my components. I have no idea what to do..... so I'm slowy selling everything.

While effective, I also don't like the idea of putting items on vendors for storage. Not for my own storage problems, that actually works nice. But as a person who browses for resources or components, having to sift through all the 99999999999 items that people have just for their personal storage is REALLY annoying.

'Sides, warehouses would give an industrial district feel to towns.

/agreed.I have a hidden storage vendor that is not searchable and has nothing that I want to sell on it. The 9999999's on the searches or even on vendors that have stuff for sale is annoying. Yeah, just filter them, and I do, but I don't understand why you would have a storage vendor searchable anyway.

Lol ... I use a simple enough code for sorting classes of resources ... 99999999 for ferrous metal, 88888888 for non-ferrous, etc. Even tho my storage vendors are not searchable and not registered on the map, people still find their way to them. Why someone would search quaint little Rori towns for open doorways with vendors inside is beyond me! But I still get tells and emails like "Hey, I want to buy some of that Rori Wooly Hide you have, but why is it priced at 555 cpu? Isn't that a little high?"

I've moved all of my resources into factory ingredient hoppers. It's just too hard to use the vendor interface to scan for quality resources. I prefer setting my "view resource attributes" (control-o then Interface) to display the stats I need, then open the hopper and check them out. Sometimes it takes a little fidgetting to get them to display -- switch to list view, scroll so that all get displayed, switch back to icon view, repeat as needed.

Then again, I have a somewhat outrageous number of toons (only somewhat) and guildies with lots willing to drop factories for me.

That's soo true though. I have my storage vendor in a house out in the middle of no where in Rori, I have the house named "storage vendor" in Tagalog (most people have never even heard of that language, let alone understand it). I had the vendor hiding in a basement corner and no decorations in the house. I was crafting the other day and all of a sudden some guy logged into the game inside my house. I asked him what he was doing here and he said, he was just checking my vendor and if I would sell any of the stuff on it...? I was stumped on how he found it!

Some people have reported that their un-searchable vendors were searchable from the bazaars..

Others have said that a vendor is searchable by default, meaning that people can browse it through the vendor search unless you specifically disable it..

I use factories input hoppers as well.

I have 15 factories I use for storage asside from my storage vendor.

And with maintenance now gone, it's free.

Also, on my vendors, I use backpacks to sort things out.

Like "Krayt Scales singles" for singles, "Krayt Scales x2" for stacks of 2... "Krayt Sclaes x 13" for stacks of 13, etc for all loot items.

Same with cores, I use backpacks to sort them out like "Cores - Battle Unlayered 6K", "Cores - Battle Primus 6550", etc.

It really helps.

So Lev, you understand "putanginamu"?

I currently store everything on 1 vendor and name it as my Personal Assitant setting near my desk. No storage houses etc etc etc

What I do is (something very tideous) put everything in a pack and label the packet. You can store 50 items in the pack and still only count as 1 item on the vendors. Also have a label systeming on the packs -

Steel, Carbonite <Name> (DR,OQ,SR,UT)

Sort it out by type or name and I get everything at my finger tips. Usually means I have the vendor screen up when I'm crafting just incase I need something quickly.

Just gotta remember to have 51 free slots in your inventory to get the item out is the downside, but it works for me.
