I have been playing since beta and I was never a crafter. I havn't played much in the cu yet, and I was curious what it ment to be a 12 point chef/as/ws and so on. Ive seen skill tapes that add like +17 to exp and so on, but if someone could explain it to me, I would apperciate it.

12 points means you have 12 experimentation points, instead of the usual 10. In order to become a 12 point crafter, you can do three things:
1. Gather enough skilltapes for the specific profession, in this case master armorsmith, which you'd need skilltapes with armor experimentation. But you'll need to gather about 25 point added together, to get the 12 points. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
2. Use foods, such as Besin Port for experimentation and Pyollian cake for assembly. I'm not sure how this works, though, since I never used it.
3. Become force-sensitive and do the crafting phase, which willgive 12 experimentation points.
Last method could probably be the cheapest way, but also the hardest way to become a 12 points crafter, but I do believe the points, once mastered, will be available for every crafting based profession.
I use a25+ experimentation- and assembly suit for my armor-crafting, since I never bothered becoming force sensitive.
Hope that helps a little.
Anyway, if someone has something to add or correct, please do so.

For each +10 you get, you earn another point you can use in experimentation.
At Master, you have +100 Armor/Weapon/Food Esperimentation (Check CTRL+S).
At +110, you have 11 points, and at +120 you have 12 points.
** With the exception of a Human Master Artisan. They have +120 at Master. So with tapes, they can become 14 point masters = 14 experiment points.
2. Use foods, such as Besin Port for experimentation and Pyollian cake for assembly. I'm not sure how this works, though, since I never used it.
Incorrect, you will get boosts in assembly only, not extra experiment points.
Food bonuses are like crafting in a "Research Center" status Player City.
3. Become force-sensitive and do the crafting phase, which willgive 12 experimentation points.
Incorrect, this works kindalike foods.
Better assembly rolls, but no extra experiment points.
You will get more amazing successes and fewer critical failures.

Yes, it will help in assembly rolls.

LOL, you guys crack me up!
And to theAussie asking about the 11 points, I'm sorry.
I think you get +115 with a Human Master Artisan (only 11 points).
With an additional +25, you end up being +140 (14 points).
I'm just going by memory here, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went.

Absolutely correct. I am one such lucky human in game. A Human master artisan with no tapes is +11. The added +25 in tapes brings the total exp. points to 140 giving the +14 as stated.
