Thread: Ubese Armor
Ok, a handful of questions about Ubese armor:
1) Could someone break down what is below average, what is average, what is decent, and what is a great stat for each piece?
2) What is the throwaway point for each piece?
3) Should any of the exp points be used to bring down encumbrance for any of the pieces?
4) What sort of price points are you seeing/charging relative to a given stat on a given piece of this armor?
i also had some questions about ubese. i came accross a player shop with ubese shirts. being a TKA i liked the no encumbrance so i bought one. so i only armor i have on is that shirt, but after about an hour of fighting i never saw the shirt absorb any damage. the armorsmith told me ubese is clothes you wear under your armor. he was busy so he didn'tanswer any more of my questions. but if i buy a full set of ubese and wear just that, will it give me some protection? or is it meant only to reinforce other armor you wear over top of it?
thanks guys
as for good ubese... well, i guess right now my baseline to shoot for would be 20% vs kinetic (this is a locked resist), 10% vs blast, and 10% vs the other 4 resists (one of which is energy)... for a tech II armorsmith that would be real good armor i think. Most of my stuff has be 20/8/10 for what i would consider a good piece.

i should really read full posts...
2. any stat at 1
3. at tech ii with only 3 experiment points i'm usually putting them all into the quality (to bump up energy resist, since the kinetic is locked)
4. i think it's about 50k a suit right now.
Hi Oddroot:
Your reply is much appreciated. That helps a lot. I'm actually at TechIV and pride myself on making quality armors but had no baseline to compare what I was making to.
Your answers are really good with respect to chest, helm and legs, but how about bracers, boots and gloves? They actually employ a different system. My current efforts are topping out at 24/7 or 22/9. Would customers rather see a more balanced 22/9 or splashy first number? 22/9s are typical and I've yet to see a result go off the chart into 22/10 or 24/9 territory.
My high end for chest/legs etc has been 20/26/9, but the quality here has ranged tremendously so far. I've seen a lot of crit failures when experimenting despite using my most expensive materials and have finished with several pieces in the 20/12-16/7-8 range. I'd been wondering if I should toss them because it would make me look bad to post them on my vendor. For example, I post nothing less than a 20+/8- with occasional 22-24/7 with Chitin (my high end now surges to 26-27/10 on occasion) on my vendor because you can't call yourself a specitalty high end armorer and dilute it too mcuh with lesser stuff.
Anyhoo, you've helped a lot. I see I need to do more to improve the third set of resistances than I have been to get better balance. Thanks again.

be nice to make armor with tech III tonight... still shuddering at th fact of going through the shields and layers lines at some point
Can anyone describe what Ubese armor looks like, or supply a screenshot if you have one. I haven't seen any of this armor on my server (scylla) but was interested in what it was. Also is its main type of protection?

It's the Armor that Lea was wearing when they went to get Han out of Jabba's palace.
