Thread: Why does everyone max base on RIS?

Im just currous about this.. RIS is the best hunting armor by far in this game.. with nice slices and made right it can be under 250 ham with 80% kin and with inerwoven if can get its ham down to near nothing.. With armor thats vulerale to acid and stun to me maxing base to raise heat, energy and balst is just a waste of what should be the best hunting armor bar none..
Any comments?

RIS Hunting armor?!?
You'd have to be out of your bloody mind to use RIS for hunting. Way too much wear and tear. Even with composite you go through a suit every couple weeks of hard hunting, ubese even sooner. Id be almost afraid to use RIS for hunting, its too rare, and costs too much for everyday use.

It's simply more of a challenge to try to max kinetic and base while keeping encumbrance down than to simply max kinetic and then work encumbrance.
RIS is really more of a test of crafting and loot whoring ability than it is a viable option for usable armor. A decent armorsmith should be able to make 80% kinetic with very low encumbrance without loot for far less time, money, and effort.

It's still just armor. Personally, I have enough components to make 3 full suits, and what people want to do with it after that if really up to them.

Ya you can make lit-kin comp with shards and get the bas WAY down with all encumbrance slices (I made a suit of 80/72/63 and the 9-piece has 270 HAM... 4 suits of slicing but hey)
If RIS didnt require GDK scales and woolymander frags it MIGHT be worth using.... but not for hunting. The acid vuln would suck on places like yavin and endor.

like all my uber weapons, i use my ris suits all the time. why make something if its just going be for display. You can always get more. i use all my nice stuff, but i don't trash them on NS and krayts. its nice going hunting in something different.
i rather use my good stuff, then quitting the game with a wall full of unused uber gear.

I agree...... No point making this armor unless you are prepared to go out and have fun with your creation....

Well i use mine to hunt in,, as a CH/Rifleman i love having 80% kin with under 250 ham.. for that one time i get hit,, BTW i never buff... soo low ham armor is a must
and yea, why make it if you aint gonna use it,, : )

Using RIS for hunting is like taking your Ferrari, Lamborgini, Porche, or McLarren F1 to work everyday. If you want low HAM 80% kinetic for hunting ask your local AS to make you Voritor enhanced Ubese.

Bleh, ubese is ugly and doesnt last long enough, encum sliced lit kinetic comp is the way to go. (hehe)

if i had the money to buy a ferrari your damn right i would be driving it to work ever day.. and consitering the suit of chitin i was wearing before the RIS i have worn the same suit for 5 months and its not even 1/4 decay i dont see my RIS going anywhere soon..

I remember a famous story of a German man who commuted something close to 200 miles every to and then from work, with the commute time for each way (200 miles) being around the one hour mark. He had a McLaren f1, the figures where confirmed when he got the car serviced and the on board telemetry showed the car had been travelling at speed over 200MPH twice a day without a single glitch....
(So I guess the morel to this story is that if you had such a car you can damn bet you would use it to go to work...)
