hello.

i don't know whether this is a right place to ask this kind of questions but i just want to know.

i'm almost TKA and i'm tired of wearing a composite armor. i know it's the best armor in the game, but everybody is wearing it. what can i get for TKA other than composite armor. i want something high in kinetic... i don't really know anything about armors so i just want to know.

if anybody has a good suggestions please let me know.

thank you

Really depends on what you do. If you PvP, you'll probably want to stick with composite, as it gives the best overall protection. However, if you generally do not PvP, Ubese can be a fine choice. Kinetic Resistance on well made Ubese can apprach 80%, but the base effectiveness will be pretty low. Hope this helps 8)

If you don't need uber kinetic resists you could try tracking down an armorsmith who makes chitin armor. Chitin with decent resources can reach around 50% kinetic protection.

Chitin with very decent resources can reach around 65% kinetic resist. Problem is to find the good Dantooine Animal Bones.

Hello armorsmiths,

I normally fight unarmored but as I will soon hit MCH my quest for finding a bull rancor baby will soon begin. Now I could use some help in fighting those so I set my eyes on using some armor.
Now I'm not interested in composite as I would also need buffs to wear it, and to be honest it doesn't look too good either. What I'm looking for is an armor that gives Light armor protection and some kinetic resistance, it also needs to be light to carry so low ham cost.

As I know nothing about armor, could you guys tell me
!) what armor types give resistance to kinetic and how much when it's made properly (not uber, just the regular ones),
2) how much HAM it would drain,
3) What is used in creating it and the important stats (oq, sr etc)
4) I heard you can use armor layers, segments, hides. Which can I use for which armor.
5) Maybe some personal notes about certain armor types (I wouldn't wear that suit for a mill. credits etc.)

Thanks in advance

Madhi

a very nice and light armor could be RIS for you, but i think thats not what you are after, lol

there is chitin with kinetic special, can be raised to 50% easily.

padded can be a light kinetic armor (50% kinetic or better) aswell if your smith uses light kinetic layers or no layers at all.

ubese being the most used kinetic grinding armor might be your choice aswell (50% to 80% depending on enc you are looking into).

tantel armor, which covers kinetic with its base makes you look cool and offers up to 45% protection to almost any damage type in the game.

and last is mabari, which has kinetic in base. may be made with 25% kinetic protection i think.

thats a lot of choices

pretty much any armor requires OQ and SR to hit good kinetic protection

i dont know much about encumbrance on thee armor types, but i am pretty sure any of em can be used unbuffed

umm, wrong....

How about a full suit of Comp armor with 378/366/385 HAM.... 66% base and 80% Kinetic.

This is the sort of ball park figure you can expect from a 'light kinetic' set with an enc. slice. The only issue you have to deal with then is the appearance, but comp atm will still offer the best protection in just about any encounter....

This can be even lighter is you are willing to use just a 4 peice set, as it stands there is no role for any other armor (apart from looks)

Mabori.

A master smith should be able to hit 25-30% kinetic with it. Very Very Lightweight (around 100-100-100 enc if i remember right). Consists of 5 pieces: Chest, Pants, Helm, Gloves, Boots.

Ubese.

Higher resists than Chitin and has a lower Enc also because it consists of 7 pieces. If you want even lower enc, look for an unlayered suit. Resists will still be in the 60% range too (no-layers).

That's quite a drain on the stats if you're unbuffed. Also all other resistances are useless to me, I only use it in PvE, creatures to be more specific, so everything besides kinetic is a waste to me. I think I like the sound of tantel and chitin armor. They sound quite lightweight. What kind of layers could I use in these kind of armor (what drops it)

Tantel is not a full suit so is a bit pointless, light Chitin is best made with Reinforced Kliknik Shells from the Geo caves.... They can make some very low HAM armor, and kinetic as a special so about 60% ish.... Also Chitin looks very different, you will not look like just another clone....
