I've been told that it takes +20 (in tapes) to get +1 xp point, how many exp poitns does a normal MAster Armorsmtih have?

Only takes +10 per point. You can get a maximum of +25 thru tapes to add an additional 2 experiment points on top of the standard of 10 for a total of 12 experiment points.
