Hello, I was wondering if any other armorsmiths could help me out with this. I was wondering if the krayt segments are worth using. I've read a few places that they were bugged. I'm not really sure how to use them though. I assume you need 5 identical ones for a composite chest plate.. one for a schematic. And the same with all the other parts. Any help?

New to AS and trying to start by making some wookiee armor and the Adv Kashyykian ceremonial armor segments call for an optional Segment Enhancement - what diferent types of enhancements can I add here? Thanks!

Hello, I'm new here myself and have been asking much the same thing...

Appendix Cto Jaato Waals' "Complete Guide to Armor & Armorcrafting [edited]" lists both segments and enhancements, plus their respective stats. You can findthe whole articlein this forum, second from top.

Hope this helps.

Yes thanks for the help and I read the guide (which is excellent btw) I just feel overwhelmed, maybe I'm trying to do too much too fast and perhaps I need to slow down and experiment a little.

I do have another question though, if I'm to make armor that requires multiple segments from a factory crate does that mean I need to have serialized enhancments or just the same type (i.e. krayt scales)?

I agree, that Guide is just too overwhelming for the novice smith. Once the jedi system gets revamped and hologrinders go away, I think I'll replace the hologrinding guide with a simple one written for novice smiths.

Yes. The enhancements have to have the same serial number to run in a factory.

I have been an Master Armorsmith for about 2 weeks now, and i would like to know which Segment Enhancements go with what armor... I know that Voritor Lizrad segments go into Bone Armor.... But what are the others? Ihave Nightsister Segments as well.... I just got done making a very good piece of Mabari Armorweave armor but i know it could be better with a segment... Anyone with the answer would be a godsend.....

there is a good summary in the "complete guide to armoursmithing" stickied above.

However - there are 2 main types of loot drop for armoursmithing.

1) Segment replacements - specific to each type of armour

2) Segment enhanements - can go in any crafted segment for any armour

If it says in the description it can be used insterad of an xxxx segment, then it is a segment replacement, and of questionable value.

If it is an enhancement, then it goes in the segment that you craft.

There was a discussion thread a while back about the relative merits of these things, and the general consensus was that Janta hide is by far the most useful of these, and nightsister shards were pretty high on the list too (if I can find the thread, I'll post the link to it)
