With the 'combat rebalance' not too far away (Okay okay, 3 months??) I feel that most people don't know how important encumberance will be after the 'rebalance'.
One thing is I see, people are obsessed with composite and hitting the highest resists they possibly can, with no heed to the encumberance at all, and armorsmiths support this!
Personally, I talk to people all the time about the evils of composite armor, but it's great for many a thing, just the cost of wearing it is horrible. I love the stuff, beleive me, just not the 1000 ham variety. I'm not going to pay an extra 400-500 ham just for an extra 10-15% base resist, no way. If I want really high resists to energy, I'll buy a crate of PSG's, tyvm.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, let ur customers know that in the not too distant future, HAM is going to play a huge role in their lives, and it may even take precedence over raw resists, especially if you are not fighting the toughest, baddest creatures and npc's in the game, heck, especially if you are!

They wont care till it happens. Best advice is to learn every intricacy aboutt armor crafting till then, so you can take the market right away. Soon people will have to make choices. If you can make what they want, they will come to you.

I still mine many secondary quality resources, that happen to have alot more mall to them. I have a fiberplast that's 50 points lower in oq/sr, but has 950 mall vs 250 mall. Just keep on the lookout for such items, and take the market when it hits ( if it isn't nerfed to pieces first). *shrug* We'll see after the rebalance whether it pays off....

I think you're underestimating SOE's procrastination potential, especially for such a large endeavour that will not directly generate any $$$ for them. JTL brings in money, because people go out and buy the expansion pack. The Combat rebalance, which, if what they say is true (hahaha) will be nearly as much code but will bring in $0. It was originally pub 7, then 11, now it's after JTL. Additionally, if they ever actually put the combat rebalance in they'll no longer be able to use it as a catch-all answer to questions "Wait for the combat balance" "This will be addressed in the combat balance" "I hate to say it again but, Combat Balance". I mean, **edit** would TH do if he couldn't simply post "CB" 50 times a day when the combat professions beg to be fixed? He'd actually have to go and *gasp* talk to a dev and get an answer.
I think you're wrongin yourassumption thatpeople don't care about encumberance. A couple months ago you'd be lucky to find a stun helm under 325 mind enc on bloodfin, now they're coming in under 300 with 2% better base. HAM is coming down, and it'll come down much faster than many expect if/when the combat balance actually hits TC.
