Hello, all!
I stopped playing SWG about a year ago because...well, it was sucking...and I had to go to the desert...but anyway, I'm downloading the updates now, and was wondering if I should pick up where I left off with my Armorsmith (nowhere, near master) or start over with another profession.
1. Did they change the 'Carpal Tunnel Crafting' system?

2. How are resources gained now? I know they nerfed surveying right before I left.
3. Did they turn SWG back into a game instead of a second job?
Thanks all. I only have a few months before another4 month vacation...are armorsmiths funagain?

1: nah, if you master any crafting profession in under a month, chances are you're gonna have some tired wrists/hands.
2: harvestors. they use 1 lot each, put power and maintenance in them, select which resource you want it to harvest, turn it on and go back every day or two to retrieve your resources.
3: it's only like a second job if you don't try to have fun with it. Try to have fun, and it's a blast.

Thanks for the reply! Anyone know a good PA on Eclipse that might be recruiting?

Yes and no. If you stopped playing a year ago, you still prolly had to drag the resource over to the slot you wanted. now you just double click. still intensive, just less than before.

Harvesters, just now you need to look at BER(base extraction rate). they vary upon the size of the extractor, higher the better. Hand sampling takes alot longer now.
3. Did they turn SWG back into a game instead of a second job?
heh, depends on who you talk to. Once you get your AS supplies up you should be ok. Just hope you have guild support for harvester lots and getting hide. Hide is VERY expensive, some on my server was just selling for 75-100 creditsfor 1 hide!

Hello. I am a returning master armorsmith and I have been away for a couple of months so alot has changed. Can anyone tell me some of the stuff to help better craft (aside from skill tapes). I have heard of some food items and apron. What all is out there? Thanks.

Currently, there is no apron for armorsmiths.

It's Pyollian Cake ![]()
From memory our current list of enhancers is:
Pyollian Cake (for initial assembly)
Bespin Port (boosts chance of amazing success)
Skill Tapes (tapes available for: Assembly, Repair, and Experimentation)
Cheers ![]()

Okay, so the only skill bonuses are from skill tapes?
What about this food and drink I have heard mention. What are they called and how do I use them. I have seen some mention of them but exactly how to, or when to, use them seem to have some different believes in how they work.

There are 2 food items: Bespin port and Poly..something cake.
Bespin modifies experiment rolls and the cake modifies the assembly roll.
I'm pretty sure these are experimented for quality and filling. My bespin adds 11...don't remember the other.
