I have read that you need to hit 86% on stun layers to get 40% for comp. Now here are my resoures on bria.
Obiate Steel OQ 981 SR 986
Two types of gem Ive tried
Hori Cryst. Gem OQ 928 Sr 937
Moopoe Cryst. Gem OQ 904 SR 968
Kawega Crism Silicastic Ore OQ 938 SR 215
Now I hit 86% every time and on my Composite plates it comes out 39%. From what I know I should hit 40% Am I missing a trick?
One more question. I have heard people asking if they used Trim, What effect does that have on armorsmithing?

Odd question for you: but is the 39% on the segment or on the final piece of armour?
I ask this, because I currently make 39.xx% stun segments, that then turn into 40% stun on the final combines. Which leads me to believe that there is some minute effect from the resources used in the actual final crafting that can push the decimals over the line and cause them to round up...

Indeed....
My 44% Stun armor was only 43% on the segments..... Make some gloves to check...

you probably need 86.xx% and are just barely missing it
get a little better resources, use the second gems and get a crism with a little higher SR if possible

ya the OQ of all your stuff is great here is a good way to factor out how you can tell if one is better then the other.
test #1
resource OQ SR
Steel 981986
Gem 928937
Ore 938 215
totals 2847 2138
Dev.X3 949 712
Test #2
Resource OQ SR
Steel 981 986
Gem 904 968
Ore 938 215
Totals 2823 2169
Dev X 3 941 723
As you can see the OQ dropped .8% but you gained .13% in SR this should get you to dang near 87% layers. high SR medal and gems are a must with the stun lol.
I have a steel that is 998 OQ 960 SR (979 balance) and an iron that is 968 OQ 990 SR (979 bal) and the steel will get 39% stun the iron will get 40% stun..

Thanks for the tips. It seem that when I make the gloves with the second gem I get 40%. I had only checked making the gloves with the first gem. But, I have tons of the first type of stun plates, almost 2000 and I figured something else out. If I use two stun plates from the second gem and 1 from the first I still get 40%. The difference between a great AS and a good one are in the decimals its seems.

Ya, I was looking at the gemstones and thinking the 2nd one should get you 40%. The decimals will get you evertime....
