If someone uses Bio Engineered altered reinforced panels or cloth in comp armor or tantel or padded...does the stats like +4 melee +15 stun carry over or medical +17/+17 for the cloth?

I would have to think no since I've never seen it...but still wonderin

Are you sure?

There was sometalk on the boards several months ago that armor padding (I believe), used in wook ceremonial armor (since it is more bio in nature) and would retain BE reiforced panels or synthetic cloth attributes.

This occured at very high quality of resources (800+ avg) at every step of the Tailoring and Armorsmith process and since this isdifficult to do, it is extremely rare.

This assertion is based on the concept that 10-12pt exterimentation on powerups can grant an additional modifier (greater than or near the 90%).

There was a very short time (like a week?) where the BE mods would carry-over into armor. It doesn't anymore.

It was more like three days and I think it was around last november.

As far as armor padding goes, there is no slot to add a BE tissue to it...

The DEVs have stated they believe armor with BE mods would be too powerful.

Ok, thank you for the history lesson; damn, November was such a long time ago .

Fair enough.

Please excuse my personal bias, but I am still reeming from thechange that wookiees can no longer wear wook arms underneath the bracers anymore. So in order for a wook to wear any BE clothing they have to remove 1 of the 3 armor pieces (chest, legs or bracers).

How many pvping wookswould rather have -400 stats, but be able to wear +17 bleeding def, +4 melee.def or +17 intimidate/+17 warcry?

In the days of doctor buffs and comp armor, -400 stats means less. Just when we thought the DEVs threw the wook a bone, they really just laced it with cyanide.

Wookies weren't even considered in the BE gear in armor discussions cause back then they didn't have armor. You have to remember that WAAAAYYYY back when, your personal character stats were supposed to be it. The 400 did make a differnce initially, and the 30ish resists that most armor had was not as significant a factor. It was planned (hoped) that the wookies increased stats would balance out with other players armor. Unfortunatly, buffs and 80%+ resist armors have completely destroyed the initial assumptions that went into balancing the game. There was a failure to test the high end of armor, weapons, and buffs when the game was balanced, instead relatively low level equipment was used as that was what there was. In short instead of balancing for what would, could, and did happen with weapon, armor and buff stats, assumptions were made on the low end. Basicly the game was tested and balanced based on what it was in beta, not what it would become once it was live and people figured out how the systems worked. You are now paying the price for a lack of foresight.

This game was designed for ubuffed characters, plain and simple. If you consider trying to play without buffs, you would quickly see that your heavy armor would be impossible to wear (even high kin ubese would be a pain since your regen rate would be abysmal while wearing it) and creatures that you wade through with impunity whilebuffed would present a significant challenge. As was stated above, the low resist armor on a human would make them comparable to an unarmored wookiee in a "buffless world."

Well, for one. Not too many folks successfully PvP unbuffed;though I miss the non DOC buff days when you had to wear some parts of comp armor and encumbernace was a factor.

Also, since the human stat no-limitation-bug persists, humans can be stronger than a wook, morefocused and more willed than a zabrak and mon cal?!

But, the change to the clothing (i.e. wook arms) was made in the last publish, which irks me so. The wookiee is suppose to be attuned to nature, so why is it that BE clothing can not be worn with armor; it just doesn't make sense either SW wise nor playability wise.

Did the DEVs think that one clothing piece for the wook with skill mods was gonna overpower the wook?

keep in mind: comp armor is more powerful, lasts longer (since damage is distributed to 9 comp vs 4 wook armor pieces), is more readily available. I'm sure many wooks can attest to actually having to hunt for obscure resources on 2 different planets in order to be properly supplied. It just makes a wook want to grab somebody'sarms and .... RAWWR!
