Hi there!

I get the impression that I'd be better served by a composite armor without the special kinetic layer but with great base resists. I see a lot of armors with 80 Kinetic and ~70%s base resists. They slice it and it turns out 80% Kinetic and 84% base... thought Kinetic was the main one.

My idea is to buy a set with great base resists but as light as possible or a set wiht crappy base resists but as High Kinetic as possible. Using top quality materials and no special loot what can I get from an Master Armorsmith?

Is my thinking wrong? Recently I've been seeing armor I like better with special resists to electricity and energy with high base resist kinetic, I like this because if I slice it the kinetic goes up. Can you take the special resists and make it lighter? How much lighter and is it worth it?

Thanks in advance,

Your first question is pretty much going to be....Do I care about encumbrance?

If so, your base is going to suffer a little. I can get a 61% base that's still wearable unsliced. It will still slice into the 80% range. For the light stuff, you may want to use kinetic layers to get the 80% special. Although it is attainable with a decent slice.

For heavy armor, I use electric layers. Anyone that's buying it isn't usually concerned about weight and will be hoping for an effectiveness slice. It's possible to hit 90% with 67-68% base and a perfect slice. It would be a shame to limit the kinetic to 80% in this case.

I currently have really crappy resources for stun layers, but I'm going to put some together tonight and see how it turns out. Hopefully I can keep the base in the 60s and still get 20%+ in stun.

Basically you are right.

If you want lighter armor, then get 80% kinetic and hope for encumberance slices.

If you want high Kinetic, then get Electric or Stun layered with a high base, and then hope for resist slices.
