Thread: Factional Armor revamp
Good thing about AS being able to craft ST armour is that the battles that do take place would look much better and would probably bring more people to the BF.
Bad thing is AS would charge 2 million + for a full set ![]()
I have a better idea for factional armor.
Let the schematic for it be something able to be bought from a recruiter for FP, and then unlimited use, as long as you remain within that faction. Quit the faction, the schematic goes poof. Thus, Imp AS only make Imp armor, and Reb AS can only make Reb armor.
Make it so that it can only be equipped if Overt (and get rid of the dying with it on bug), and Make the armor better than composite and lighter - this is for PVP only, so the armor on both sides Needs to be the ultimate PVP armor in the game, aside from ultra rare armors like RIS and Mandalorian (but tweaking those are another issue altogether).
That, is how I would revamp factional armor.
Nah, you need a sink for FP. Same as you buy them now. Currently no one is buying them, so the sink doesn't actually exist - at least not in any meaningful context. But the system was designed to have an FP sink in place. I think the current rates are a bit high, so I'd like to see the schems be for 3 to 5 uses each.
My concern with the ST armor being its own craftable type is that if it isn't essentially composite armor that looks different, then everyone will still use only the better of the two in battle. Adding skins to the existing armor types is a simple and effective solution. Why redesign a piece of armor when you can just tweak an existing one(s)?
