I've been wondering if this will kill the armor-slicing market, or make it more profitable. I think people will either avoid the risk and not get their armor sliced, or carry around another suit of sliced armor with them to switch out during combat (second option most likely). With the emphasis suposedly being taken off the mind pool, people's helmets won't constantly take a beating either. Presuming that only pieces being hit and not just being worn will go out of tune,it will probably be evenly spread among the main armor pieces.
So, the masses will either spend more money on a main suit and a spare partial suit then get them all sliced, or stick withone reliable unmodified suit.

Seriously.
I was looking over at theInConceptforum, andSmugglers have some insight into their revamp now (finally) in terms of how things are going to go.
The part that most interested me was the fact that slicing would be changing, and that it would be more "crafter"-like, based on what I saw.
What most intrigued me was the idea that when something is "sliced", the more points you use moving it to a desired stat, the more "out of tune" the item would become, making said item risk breaking, and in the case of armor resists, potentially letting full damage come through for a hit or two.
So, if that is the case, and people who get sliced armor risk bearing the full brunt of damage, then that means suddenly that getting 90% sliced armor might not be good for the long run.
If this is the case, do you potentially see the armor-smith profession shift from a completely base % oriented philosophy to a philosophy still a base % first, but much more importance on encumberance?
Let's face it: I think in light of the CURB, buffs getting nerfed, this new slicing design, etc - encumberance will matter a lot more, as more and more it looks like a combination of people's regen rates and protection are what will keep them alive, vs. buffs and protection.
I just wanted to get peoples' thoughts on this.

Well, it won't be measured like that, but keep in mind there will be an equivalent set of stats, and so thus the theory behind what I am saying still holds.
