I am new to armorsmith and I am creating my first set of imperial PSG's. My question is can you play around with the special protection like you can with comp armor or is it just set as to what is special and what is regular resist?

Base and Special (energy) are completely seperate. Max out base first. As this is what most folk are after (Due to the stun and LS resists. Though mostly stun since the LS resists eventually allways get lost)
Also dispite what has been said. PSGs that 'loose' the LS resist. Do indeed seem to loose it. As I've tested it out with the help of a jedi friend. And the PSG didnt do a thing to reduce damage. (he was hitting me for the same damage with or without it)

Yes, most popularpopular type is "stun" PSG( max base), but I make 67% energy PSG too, it's very usefull ( max special, then base). Good if you have 2 types for sale. You can also make " balanced" PSG if you spread points between baseand special.

My best for "balanced" is max base at 48% and the rest in special to hit 46% energy. This leaves condition un-experimented somewhere around 2800.
As others have said, energy is the special for PSG's and that can't be changed. You can't use layers or enhancers to move other resists into special.
