If your sig is right, once you hit Master Armorsmith, things will chance slightly with Composite, Ubese fully experimented.

I started with a base of 5 times the number of resources in the piece (including components). When I had to buy components (such as SynthCloth for the Mabari) I doubled the price and added that to my total for the resource cost. This worked out for me when I had no skill and for easily available resources at the low end of the skill tree.

Now as I'm moving up in skill (experimentation points) and moving to patterns that require more specific/rare resources, I'll probably modify my formula to something more along the lines of:

(c * l) + (r * k) + (e * m) = price

Where:

c = Cost of components I had to purchase
l = Some constant multiplier (probably 2-3)
r = Number of resources obtained myself
k = Some constant multiplier based on the stress in obtaining them (somewhere between 5-20)
e = Experimentation points used to craft the piece
m = Some constant multiplier based on slicing prices (currently around 100)

Of course, I'm also kind of lazy sometimes. So I'll probably take this and work up an estimate and use that to make a consistent price and just stick with that.

Currently, using this formula, I'm selling suits of Mabari for about 3.3k. That price was worked up based on an l of one, a k of five, and an m of zero ... with a little fudge factor tossed in.

i was poor until i hit master. not poor like "maann i never win those 20million auctions" ... i mean poor like "maaann i gotta take a few delivery missions to keep my harvs up"

this changed with a big boom when i hit master. for the duration of my last 4 boxes i prepared a run of 150 shields. i had fine ressources for the final combine, i only waited for those assembly and experimentation bonus.

when i was master i made some VERY nice shields for 20k with not much competiton in my region at that time. sold a few an bang! i was over 500k. from that on i started on composite. with the shields keeping me on cash i waited until i could make 40% (eff) armor before i started to sell.

not much to tell after that 47%/42% normal comp, 66%/53% advanced comp simply sells ...

Heh, i remember launch and spending my time glued to the crafting stations in bestine Wow that was insane, those first few days.

Hunters brought me hide and bone and I surveyed for fiberplast right there in town and I was turning out Bone Armor suits in no time. I was giving away most of them to PA members at the time since they were bringing in materials but every 5th one or so I put on the bazaar for prices that would put the enitre suit of bone at 18k and it sold out overnight, often it was getting bought out before i could get the whole suit posted.

Mabari was runing 20k for a suit at that point. Boy, finding a wearables factory for synthetic cloth was a serious pain That alone kept the price up for a while till chitin started showing up in force.

By the time TCON had an extra PA Hall to sell I had like 200k banked and ended up donating half of it to the PA Hall effort.

Sigh ... I look back at that and think, wow that was fun. But I guess it's not like that at all anymore is it?

I usually take cusotm order pretty much anymore because there's just too many colors Prices are as follows ...

Regular Chitin - 40k (35/16 resists)
Advanced Chitin - 60k (50/20 resists)
Regular Ubese - 60k (35/13 resists)
Advanced Ubese - 80k (43/21 resists)
Adv Layered Ubese - 90k (64/22 for kinetic layers, 43/4/22 for heat layers)
Regular Padded - 80k (18/27 resists)
Regular Composite - 120k (45/40 resists)
Advanced Composite - 180k (58/51 resists)

Yes, I'll make the regular chitin if a customer asks for some but not otherwise. It'll just sit on the vendor for way too long

This may be because I'm still a n00b, but my pricing scheme is as follows:

Base Cost of Materials * 1.2 + [Effectiveness percentage expressed as a decimal]

The 1.2 represents a 20% markup from cost.

So if I make my "world-famous" Mabari at a WHOPPING 7% Effectiveness rating then it's:

[Base Cost] * 1.27 = 27% markup from cost

As far as cost goes, I treat common resources as 5cpu (credits per unit) and less common as 6.

For other components that I need to purchase, I just deal with the current contractual prices I have established. Synethic cloth, for example, I purchase from a Tailor friend of mine for 2500 credits for a crate of 25. 100credits per item.

That pricing scheme MAY be too low, since it's pure cost related and doesn't account for time spent. It counts for skill level TO A DEGREE because the more experimentation I can put in, the better my Effectiveness will be. However, that's weighted (obviously) towards effectiveness, if somebody wanted lower effectiveness but better encumbrance, I'll have to figure out a way to do that.

Alternatively, I may just add on a fixed percentage for every Experimentation point I have.

I'm not a master yet myself but I'm doing good business lately. I had a fair bit of help priceing from looking all over the place for armour pricing. Hint do not use the bazzar as a base for priceing armour I've seen 30%kinectic ubuse for 3000 next to a 5% armourweave for teh same price . Anyway at the moment the formula I've been useing is not based on resources used but the final product.

That is to say if I managed to get a suit of ubuse to 61% kinectic with 14% in the others I'd charge 6100 if it was not layered or advanced segments(good luck on getting that by the way). However ifI had to uselayers or advanced segments to get it that high I charged a 15% price increase each time. So that kinectic layered advanced 60% black piece would go for8000(7930). But wait what about the other stats in th armour they should be taken into account to right. Well since I'm not a master at the moment I can't spend points in other things unless it is a custom order so I just add 50 creds for each % over 10% so that brings the true price of the 61% kinetcic 14% other. so here it is

61 X 130 +50(12) (4X 3 resists(energy,acid,Electricity)= 8530

Now this works for me because I only focus on % kinectic resists since I make armour for PvE so the main thing they are facing is Kinectic damage. I'll have to make some changes to the fomula been I get those extra EXP point from master.Oh and buy the way my bank has 1.4 million in it from armour sales so evenwithout master you can make somecredits ( of course some servers have less thanhealthly ecomomys )to give you a look at master made kinectic advanced ubuse in the 55% range each peice was 20,000but since he was a master the other %'swere in the 18-19 range with lower ham costs than mine. If prices seem high or low it might have to do with axidite not spawning in the last oh 2 months

I need some input here on how to price my amor especially from Bloodfin AS. I have been reading and looked at the spread sheets briefly for figuring price but in my situation I'm not sure this would work for me as I'm pretty much self sufficient and 90 to 95% of all my resources are harvested myself... So for example taking a BER 13 Harvestor even putting it on a 75% concentration that is what? 9.56kg/ hour or 956 units?

90 credits per hour / 956 units an hour = 0.09414 credits per unit or rounding up 0.1 credit per unit

Power which I also mine myself we will be generous and give it the same cost 0.1 credit per unit

so with a cost of 0.2 credits per unit I mine... Then I'm going to be coming out with some pretty cheap armor...

The next problem I have with this is (I'm just picking protection numbers out of the air here but) say I make a standard core with 2500 protection and another standard core with 3500 protection... How can I justify to my customers selling them both at the same price because both being a standard core use the same amount of resources.

there are resource calculators on swgcraft.com

i generally assume .25cpu for anything i bulk mine

you will never [in a short time span] be able to get everything you need to make all armors

dont price armor on what it costs you to make, price it based on what the market will bare for your goods, just plain dumb to sell yourself short if you can make more off the combat types.

i would suggest pricing at what you think is unreasonable and see if you sell anything, adjust prices from there on
