Thread: A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE PROS AND CONS:COMPOSITE ARMOR VS UBESE ARMOR

I am a Bothan Pistoleer trying to decide what armor will be best for me in my certain situation. I would love some input from the armorsmith community. I am going to use this armor for nothing but PvP. When I am not engaged in PvP I will be wearing something else. Here is what I know and gather so far.

My composite armor is 80% Kinetic and 69% base.

My ubese armor is 80% Kinetic and 16% base.

One big advantage to the comp armor is that I have available (33) sockets for armor attachments while I only have (20) sockets on the Ubese. Advantage COMP. I like that I can wear my ubese without a buff. With my Comp armor - forget about it. Advantage UBESE. The comp gives me more all around protection (and it does look better). Advantage COMP. Even with a buff, it seems like the comp armor really hindersme (the encumbrances)greatly. In fact the numbers speak for themselves. The comp armor has the following total encumbrances - Health: 535 Action: 490 Mind: 432. The Ubese armor has the following total encumbrances - Health: 251 Action: 346 Mind: 326. Does this seem like a significant difference - especially as a Bothan? Advantage UBESE. I have heard (but I don't know if this is true) that Comp armor lasts a much longer amount of time. If this is accurate - Advantage COMP. These are just a few of the thoughts going through my head. I have a lot of money invested in armor and armor attachments and I would like to do this the right way. Any advice I can get on this would be very helpful. Thank you.

Try Adv Padded

Currently Making 76% Kinetic with a 50% base and the encumburance is alot less than comp. Not to mention you look alot cooler with your fave colors

Composit is the only armor worth making or having. Thanks, SOE.

Seriously, I can make you the cheapest suit of comp around and it would be better than the best set of anything else. All that matters is what you want your toon to look like, especially in this age where everyone buffs for everything.

Ubese is hunting armor, that's all there is to it. It's a cheaper alternative for hunting where it works just as well as composite.

You definately don't want to use your pvp armor when you're hunting krayt's, or hunting mantrigues for endor wooly, or whatnot. It would be a waste to use your super expensive pvp armor for regular hunting, and that's where ubese comes into its own. A cheap, high kinetic, good for regular hunting suit.

Composite for PVP.

Thats it.

Ubese has decent kinetic protection, but very poor other protections (and some vulnerabilities to common damage types like heat I think) so the armour will not protect very well against those types, and will also decay faster (higher 'go through' damage and lower durability means that the suit will wear out very quickly)

Ubese is 'training' armour for taking on creatures as they dont usually do large amounts of damage, and usually just do kinetic damage. For taking on NPCs or other players, composite is the primary choice simpy because of the number of different damage types you can take on.

You will have a VERY quick death if you attempt to PVP wearing ubese.

PVPing without buffs is also a sure fire way to die quickly, so and once you're buffed, HAM costs become a minor insignificance.
