no new smiths will ever be able to enter the market if creature resources stay as they are (unless resource kits used)

for those not paying attention, creature resources are now looted, and they are random. Also only one person can loot. Imagine ROTW but now you get some bristley hide intermingled with the eyeballs, horns and stomachs.

more than one person has posted about it taking an hour or two to get 5-10 hides to make one meat jerky.

I think I have around 500k of Naboo Bristley, and about that of lok leathery and dant wooly.

My resources can cap my armor, and if there are any new smiths trying to break into the market, they will have no way of obtaining anywhere near these amounts of hides at the quality I have

the old guys will be running the show for a while and those that low ball can only do it for so long until they run out of hides (can't low ball forever if you can't replace the hides)

I will prob do AS for a while to keep a reliable spot open for people, after hides run out, no more (I will last a while though)

I'm pretty set for Lok leathery, okay for Dant wooly, and I have a large supply of subpar of Naboo bristley. The reports of harvesting results are certainly alarming. I hope they improve with higher character/creature levels.

You're forgetting something. With no decay, you'll only be needing a fraction of the resources that you're used to since a person will only ever need a couple of suits of armor to keep him/her happy, so it won't be that bad *cough* *cough*

Wow talk about getting kicked in the teeth after you're down, sheesh. Just what in the hell are they thinking? Obviously not enough about crafters. Oh yeah, crafters sure are gonna remain an integral part of the SWG future, BAH!

Exactly, how many suits are we going to sell when each person only really needs one for the rest of their play time. As it stands right now I am sure all active players all ready have suits made. Most new players will most likely be heading done the jedi path.

If the hide issue isn't resolved I can see resource kits going from 5-6m on my server to 10m

yea we won't be selling near as much, but if hides are not resolved, I am sure it would cost a newer smith 200k or more to make a chestplate. I have everything I need to churn them out, so all my sales will be pure profit.

If anything, selling 1.5m of hides for 200-300cpu would be ok with me too

Technically, our market has become 3 suits per player, lifetime. Each player will conceivably buy 1 battle suit, 1 recon suit and 1 assault suit. That will cover any class changes they care to makefor the rest of their character's life, ad nausem.

the AS that hang out first few weeks will prob make a ton of money.

people will be using the respecs to play some of the classes and need a suit of armor while they trying it out.

think of it like this: There is a jedi guy (with alt crafter) that never goes to your store because he doesn't need armor. He tries out smuggler for a bit to see new smuggler class. He comes into my shop and buys a suit of recon armor. Buys another suit when trying out commando, etc.

This guy would have never bought any suits.

Yea I will charge what I need to, and these type of sales won't last long term, but maybe the few of us left will make a killing when things go live

Time to start supporting the 10th profession line:

- scout/be/ch

Ranger revamp spoke of Rangers becoming Spies and Ranger skills moving down to Scout.

So scout would be the ultimate harvester

But NGE scraps those 3 professions (as well as Merchant).......

Stand beside your fellow players who are getting shafted and form a block against the opportunistic and greedy SOE/LA company.

So do we know for sure that our hides are actually going to carry over? If it's this hard now, why would they let us? Would seem like an unfair advantage.... plus, who's to say what we need now is what we need later on.

I just had the same experience with the meat jerky crafting quest in Mos Eisley... I really don't see what we are expected to do to get organic resources. The future of craftingis already in doubt...if they don't change the waymeat and hideare collected, it will slam the coffin shut.

This is just what they did to BE.

Shoved as much crafting into BE as possible, cause it was planned for deletion.

What we are seeing is a downsizing of the game to reduce fixed costs for SOE / LA.

Crafting is on the way out cause it is becoming a combat loot based game period.

If there is any economy left in the game, it will be public vendors only with loot stuff.

Removal of Ranger / Scout / BE is just the beginning of removing all schematics that require creature resources.

Total BS that they have been working on this NGE for a year.

ToOW was such a sales disaster that now they are in a fire alarm status to down size the game.

Just like trying to pull a out of control plane out of a death dive.

Thanks SOE (AKA - Sucks On Entrails)
