With the recent news that the COMBAT REVAMP WILL BE HAPPENING.
they are running a sand box on it now and have 5 testers.. I guess they are working to publish it into the game very soon
.
We can almost come to a 99 % conclusion armor will be affected by it.
Now my thinking as being Master Arch/Master Artisan/NOvice armorsmith.
I just took up armorsmith and wondering if armor will be as important after the revamp.
I would say GOOD BYE T 80% compoosite and 80 % ubese or wateva. So do you think its worth taking on
armorsmith at this time ?.

Exactly. While it may not be in the same form as what we currently have, I imagine that there will definately be a need for armor. We'll just have to adapt to the changes that are made and continue running our businesses as we normally do. Could it affect our income, sales, and things like that? Yeah, but its just something for us to work with and adapt to.

As long as you continue to use the best resources, your armor will always be at the top, no matter what kind of "nerf"they imposed.
It may not be as good as what we produce now, but with a game that is constantly being updated, not much we can do.

THanks for all the feed back..
i do agree on the whole People will need armor. But will it return to the days where you would be better off with a CLOAK and no - stats then have 20 % kinetic with alot of encumberence ... And if so .. What could us armorsmiths charge.. If we go to making bad armor .. People are big headed they wont pay a decent amount for 20 % kinetic .. EVEN IF ITS THE BEST ARMORSMITHS Can make .. Or is this just my way of thinking ?? i dk .. let me know

Well, if armor still has an AR of 1, and it still knocks 50% off the top of the type of damage it's not vulnerable against, 20% armor will still be useful. However, the numbers now seem to be only one part of the combat rebalance upgrade now.
With all the effort they will be putting into this, I'd have to guess we won't see any drastic changes in armor or combat for at least 3 months yet. With testing, etc, it might even be 6 months before it goes live. I'm going to keep selling full steam until I see any indication that this change is truley around the corner.

There is an interesting thread on this subject over at Swgcraft.com in the armorsmith section. Armor is almost certain to be nerfed, but I'm not sure it should be. The combat rebalance is so over due, that it could destroy the economy of the game more than any credit dupe ever could.

The combat rev... err upgrade will change only combat professions first and then later on, if they get around to it, they will rev... err upgrade the other non-combat professions.
So... best case scenario, we'll have armor modified drastically sometime in early Spring but the Armorsmith revamp probably won't happen until 6 months or more after, if at all, if they haven't gotten distracted by another expansion or deciding to revamp jedi or space-jocks or something else.
Yes, I am cynical, highly cynical.
No changes are coming for -months- so I'll continue to make armor until I leave the galaxies.

I would have to say yes start armor smith. Even if they do nerf armor in some way, the combat classes will be the ones that will be more than likely taking the bigger hit.
We can become more aluable through this, especially if they start resricting certain proffesion to certain armors. Which could make life really interesting for us armorsmith as the custom orders start rushing in and people find that the comp armor they have is now only a nice house decoration.

if 20% is the best that can be made it will nto be worth wearing almost, unless encumb comes down, but what ever is the best that can be made will still be b ought

I just got back from a 9-month vacation in beautiful down town Paragon City, and wanted to check in on the status of the Jedi. When I left, no one could really play their Jedi characters because of the bounty hunters. Most times, I'd hear of them having to hide in their houses while entire groups of BH's would be camped outside waiting for said Jedi to poke his head out. Plus, I think it was that just using your lightsaber at all (even on some critter out in the middle of nowhere) would put you on the BH boards and make you a target. Has this changed at all ? Are jedi wimpy compared to other profs in the game ? I wouldn't mind being one but not if I can't play without constantly looking over my shoulder for PvP'ers looking to add another notch in their gun belt.
