Firslty, Hi all

Ive just made master Artisan, and I now I wanna move on to Armoursmith. Firstly, I noticed it takes a lotta xp to climb the skill tree, so gonna take ages next... ( and first question ) It says I need '3 Identical Sythetic Cloth from factory crate' to craft the armour I can make, where the heck do I find that ? Ive looked all over, not even sure what it is....

Secondly, some tips on gaining xp would be very helpful, otherwise, its gonna take me forever. Consider that I am not guilded, I have no easy access to materials, and I work on a shoestring budget ( so far I've sold a few vehicles and thats about it! )

So, a few tips would be very very welcome!

Best bet would be to double check stickied Armorsmith FAQ at top of page. But short answers to your questions:

1) You have to buy crates of teh from tailors or become a novice yourself (must be crated)

2) Mabari Armorweave Chest Plates... and alot of them

If you are a Novice Tailor, you'll need to either buy or get access to a Wearables factory. These things are expensive to buy, you'll need to talk to an Architect for details.

Otherwise you can make friends with someone that has a factory and use theirs.

Then you load a bunch of materials into the factory, load in the manufacturing schematic, push some buttons, and boom. You wait for several minutes. Factory stops, crate is made. You open the hopper to take said crate, and you're done. Each crate comes with 25 synthetic cloth units.

If you do not have a factory, or cannot access a factory, then you CANNOT make identical synthetic cloth. You will have to buy the factory crates from someone who does.

Hope this helps.

First, as others have mentioned, making mabari chest plates are the best way to grind Armorsmith xp. So survey for the required materials and put some harvesters down. If you don't have much in the way of money you can make the harvesters you need as well as the wind generators to provide power. Of course, medium harvesters would work better (faster) for getting the materials you need so you might have to buy a few if you don't have them already.

Second, buy or use anothers wearables factory. You will need to make a schematic or get one from the person who lends you their factory for the synthetic cloth. So you will need a crafting station (public ones work fine for this) if you want to make your own schematic. Then you load the schematic into the factory (under options) and place the materials you used to make the schematic into the ingredient hopper and start up the factory. Wait a day or two and your syn cloths will be identical and in crates. Now you're ready to grind away.

If you want to be self sufficient to make your armor you will need Field wear II in Tailor so you can make reinforced fiber panels.

Good luck

To grind armorsmith making Mabari chest plates uses up a LOT of Synethetic Cloth. So unless you're good friends with a Tailor to make the schematics or have Tailor yourself, buying it will be expensive. Also as others stated, you need a factory to make them identical.

Also, Mabari uses hide - a resources you can't mine but will rely on scouts/rangers to harvest for you. To grind to master you will need in excess of 70.000 hides - if you get them yourself, you will be spending more time killing creatures than grinding armorsmith, and if you buy them you will be very poor, very soon.

But you can avoid these two hard-to-get items if you grind up to Personal Armors III: Ubese making Armor Upgrade Kits, then you can start making Ubese Shirts instead. That way you can make Master Armorsmith without using a singler tailor item or organic resource.
