Thread: Anyone else thought of being a Shield Maker only?

I am a casual player, who is playing less and less due to serious computer problems, and finding i want to spend more of my time doing combat and other stuff. I have been making Ubese suits, and collecting tons of resources, but recently had an epiffany. Anyone else become a Shield Only Maker? With the new Imperial Shields, I figure I can charge 25-30k for em (I get 17.5 on my regular MK-3's). It would onlytake 3 resources of quality, one of which is a specific....and a bunch of cheap grind. I have enough subcomponents made to make around 350 of them now.....that would net me a nice little 8 mil profit. Sure they don't pay as well as armor in terms of cpu, but the resources are so much easier to come by. Anyone else thought of doing this?

I figure this will definitely be the way to go once they fix the shift, but viable until then even, especially for someone who is on only like every other day now.

are you actually getting sales of these? Mine sell, but real slow. These things are real nice too, base over 40% and high condition.

I currently sell singles at about a rate of 3-5 per day, adn like 2, 5-pack crates per week. At 25k per, and changeing my registered vendor to something like 'Imperial Shields-Always in stock' I can see that increasing by a slight bit. Anyway, that would result in a profit of 775k per week. Which for me would be a great little scheme. I don't really need the 20mil that everyone else needs, 10 will do ....and besides, these are in constant need, cause they wear out fairly quickly, meaning that once people got used ot using em, they would return more frequently? I think it would probably work well.

Thats all I do really,.make and sell these things. As a casual gamer I wanted something to do so I chose this. pretty much specializing. Only gathering recources I need,.etc,I dont want to put in the time to constanly have rescources covered for my entire tree-line..so far so good,.I love it. Pretty good business. I don't do the crate thing. I make each one by hand, other than the factory particle gens.
Stock up and run to the market to sell on the bazaar.
I think the game needs more 'disposable' items like psg's. Can anyone tell me any other items like psg's that sell decently, not counting comp and vehicles. I am talking about small things,.how is the seeker droid market? The Power-ups? Harvesters? They should make harvesters fall apart after awhile,.heh and factories. Keeping the economy rolling instead of once you buy one you're set. That kind of thing.

I do exactly the same, I have beenfor over three months. By the next day, all my PSGs sell. We have to keep in mind that these things are disposable, expendable. They are our answer to the Weapon Powerups. This is how the Combat characters see them.

Now, you sell them for over 10k a piece, you ensure that only the elites with more money than they know what to do with will buy them. You make it a luxury. This means a small market.

But what if you sell them for 6k? Or 5k? Well, suddenly they can go on the bazaar. Suddenly the average Joe-CDEF might be able to afford one. Your PSG goes from a luxury Item to an essential. Why? Because its suddenly become affordable to the large percentage of players, those who haven't made it into the elites yet.

This means increased demand, which means more sales. Which means more money. PSG selling is a constant source of income. Composite takes a while to decay. PSGs last maybe four fights.

They form the backbone of my income, and allow me a great deal of financial freedom. PSGs all the way!

Do these actually work? I've tried shields in the past and while their durability goes down, I've never seen it affect damage in any of my combat experiences.

Read your combat spam carefully next time you have one equipped. It will show up when they're preventing damage. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they work, you'll live longer.

A lot of it depends on the shifting vulnerabilities. Though I've noticed that moreand more often they show correctly as having no vulnerabilities. Maybe the Devs are making headway on this bug, or maybe i've been rather lucky.

I think in my whole AS career I've made maybe 10 psg's, and that was months ago. These new ones seem like they're worth a try though...but I thought they only came in schematics of 5 uses? How are you making hundreds of them?

5 uses = 5 schematics or 5 unique items

You can make 5 units or 5 schematics. It does not require any loot items to make.
