Thread: Question about NS Shards/Layers
-Fitzhume
ok here goes, the number of items used in a piece depends on the piece. for something like gloves, only 1 is needed. for chest plate, which requires 4 segments, 5 are needed (1 for factory run +4 for the segment, all must be same serial). based on that, you need 5 same serial ones for a chest plate, 4 same serial for helmet, 4 for leggings, 3 for boots, left bracer, right bracer, left bicep, and right bicep, and 1 for gloves. so in total you will need 29, assuming no crit fails or moderate successes
As for how many shards/layers can go in each piece, NS shards can only have 1 per segment, due to the fact that they go in a separate box for loot item placement. NS Layers on the other hand can have 3 per segment, because they go in in place of special protection layers.
i think thats everything

Question based off your answer then please.
I havent put any shards into layers yet as Im still working my way up the ladder in AS. But I picked up a schematic for a demolitioners belt and I made a schematic to make a run of 2 in my factory. Everything were in crates except two heavy duty clasps, but they both had the same serial number as the one used for the schematic.
When I put it into the factory to run, a few minutes later I got the message where my factory quilt building. The reason stated was that I had run out of clasps, which I did have the two in there. Is that normal? Are you not able to put in individual items? Because would that not also effect the fact of using NS shards which dont come in crates. So was/ am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!
/points to what Lira said
Check the factory and see if it made the items, maybe it gave you this message because you set the factory schematic to make more than 2 belts, so it went looking for more clasps after it made the 2 you had intended to make.
