Thread: Kinetic Layer Experimentation Problems...
What I have seen is that, given good to very good materials, if you experiment the Base on the layers, segs and armor to the max, you will always have and encumb near 900/800/900, unless you have some extra experimentation points to play with. 2 extra points will likely get these numbers down 50 points or more.
I have played with Kinetic PvE-type composite and usually prefer lower HAM so try to shoot for the lowest HAM to get my Kinetic to 79-80%. Best I have come up with is about 608/540/640 for a 79% Kinetic, 58% base set. Great for PvE, ok for mission type play, but not high enough protection for PvP. I know people have a fixation for round numbers, so did more playing and got to an even 80% kinetic, 60-61% base with a ham of 650/575/700. If you can afford good armor, you should be able to afford 2 sets, one for PvE and one for PvP. And definitely figure out how to macro it on and off.

Im a 10 point AS on Corbantis and i have been one since release so i have a pretty great supply of resourses. I live in a medical city so i dont get the manufacturing city bonus.
I put 7 points into getting the base to 4%, 2 points into getting the kinetic to 6% and the final point into HAM on the kinetic layers. Triple layering comp with those gets me a 66% base with 80% kinetic.
It all comes down to the quality of your resouces. All mine are over 850OQ and 800 or higher SR also with good UT and MAL

Have you ever tried putting no points at all into getting kinetic up (leave it at 3-4%) and spending them on HAM reduction too? You might get to 80% kinetic still.

Does putting 1 point at a time, experimenting matter? if i do 5 experiments with 1 point will it produce the same as 1 with 5 points?
That's something I've been wondering about as well. One obvious difference is when it comes to failures but other than that I can't tell whether if it yields a better result to experiment with alot of points at once or just the one.

Well, I'm a noob crafter, so I may be wrong. However, I've noticed that I have more "great/amazing success" when I use one point at a time, even if the risk factor is 0.
I don't think that you will get better stat improvements if you experiment one point at a time, but as I said I think it affects, maybe in a small part, the chance of success rate.
Note: I'm a Master Artisan/4-3-0-4 Armorsmith with some Tailor and Architect, so I don't know if the thing changes at master...
Oh, we all know that the secret to craft better power ups is to experiment one point at a time (only way to have 3-4 stats on a power up), so maybe it could also apply to armorsmithing..
However, I'm still a noob so I'd like to hear the opinion of the veterans ![]()
While crafting you will want at least a great success. This gives you 7% increase. An amazing success is even better since it gives you 8%. The difference between experimenting with one point at a time or a set of say five points, is that in case of an amazing success you will get one time 8% in the first case and five (!) times 8% in the second case. So, the more points you use while experimenting the less chance you will have on an amazing success but if you hit one the reward will be better.

Your right Emily, its 7-1-2, not 7-2-1. I do it so automaticly now. I wasted so many resources experimenting ubese like I would composite and vice-versa.

That's the way I did it, but overall I am worried about the HAM... every time I try, even with a lower kinetic or base rating the HAM is always out the @ss...
