I'm not an AS, but am hoping I can get some info off you guys.

I am a major loot junkie, I just can't help myself. Every so often I get an uncontrolable urge to go on a looting spree. I frequently get armour components on these sprees. As I am not an armoursmith I have very little idea if any of this is worth anything and if so how much I should be charging.

What I really would like to know is what looted armour components are worth the trouble (or what stats would be needed to make them worthwhile), and what I should just scrap. For example, I have a few rancor padded armour segments, but I have been told that a master AS can make components better than these, so I'm guessing I may as well scrap them or donate them to an AS in my guild.

At the moment I have janta hide, kimogila scales (sadly, not GDK ones), krayt scales, krayt composite armour segments, rancor padded armour segments, rancor hide, nightsister shards and NS layers.

Is there a guide to what stats are good, bad or average for the above components that someone could point me to, or any info anyone could supply.

NS layers are the most profitable, as they add to the base and lower that HAM cost, something normal layers cannot. NS shards and Janta hides tie for second,as the shards lower the HAM while the hides are free base increases with no downsides. Most of the others are pretty worthless. Most of the looted segments are worse than those a good armorsmith can make, or are for useless armor. Many of the segment enhancers add to resists, but move the resist they increase into the special protection area, which renders then unraisable by slicing. In short, NS layers are your best.
