How good is Advanced Padded Armor these days and what is the cost of a suit MINUS the dorky looking helmet.

Unlayered caps at 6000 resists to all. You can get it layered to get it over 7100 in either kinetic or energy (but with a similar drop in resists in the other) or layered to raise both kinetic and primusto 6400-6500 at the expense of the elementals. The layered costs about twice as much as unlayered and for specific prices, ask on your server's trade forums as they vary greatly between servers.

It's as good/same as Marauder and Bone.
Price is close/same to Marauder and Bone.

Cost of suit varies per serverbut if your looking for a capped unlayered suite expect to spend around 300k on low economy servers and around 450k on high economy servers.
Run a vendor search for wearable containers in game and you'll find your exact pricing.

Yea all battle armor (Bone, Maruarder and Padded)is essentially identical these days apart from appearance. On Tempest we can usually pick up a suit of 6k capped padded/maruarder for arround 400k and a set of arround 5.5k armor for arround 300k. Personally I sell two types, low end 5.5k stuff for 250k a suit and nearly capped 5.8/9k stuff for 350k a suit.
