As a WS for the past 16 months I noticed that assembly doesnt do anything anymore. I finally gave up ws about 5 days ago, but before that there was no difference between a great and amazing assembly. I never got anything less then a great assembly though in the past like 6-7 months. I am just curious as to whether there is any difference between a great and amazing assembly for AS? Or for that matter any crafting profession? I personally believe the devs have basically removed assembly mods(well their value at least) because there is no difference anymore.
As a 14pt artisan I can also say assembly is completely worthless for that profession too.

I always seem to end up with an extra point to throw around when I get an amazing assembly. It's possible you didn't notice it because it keeps going into the wound % chance line. And yeah, for Artisan it doesn't help much since it won't give you that extra 0.05% difference in the final experimentation attempt when you're hitting a hard cap....very odd.

I feel that if you have the armorsmith buff from entertainers it eliminates the need for amazing success.

It's been a long time and I don't have the patience to search for the thread, but someone did a 100 or so tests and showed there was a slightly higher % chance of getting amazing successes on experiments if you had an amazing assembly.
To the best of my knowledge this is the only benefit from amazing assemblies, and that might not even be valid because the testing sample might have been too small.
Amazing assembly has never automatically added to the starting %. It was possible to have an assembly do that in the past (maybe still?) but it wasn't tied to an amazing assembly.
