So you think you need that extra 350 health that a full health enhanced suit will give you?

Lemme tell you how its made.

Technical gibberish
Read this if you really want to know what happens when a health enhanced piece of armor is made.

A piece of armor needs 1, 2 or 3 identical cores to be made. The cores are what determines the quality of the piece of armor. Arm pieces take 1 core, legs and helmets 2 and chest pieces 3 cores. The stats on the cores dont stack even though more are used, its just another way the devs annoy us. That means that one arm piece made with a core with stats X will have the exact same stats as a chest piece made with three cores with stats X. This will be an important fact in our study of health enhancers.

One Advanced core requires three similar segments to reach the protection stat cap. The cap on health enhancements is +50 health per piece of armor.

What does all this have to do with health enhancement you might ask.

Well, each segment takes one "Segment Enhancement" and this is where it gets interesting, because those enhancements are the krayt scales, ns shards, rancor hides and so on which you know you need to make health enhanced armor.

Now, we know that each core takes three segments and that each segment takes one "Segment Enhancement" as desctibed above. These enhancements add up to make the total "Enhancement" of that core.

Allright, so in order to get a capped core we would need three enhancers to add up to 50. This could be done for battle armor by using one preCu NS armor Layer (+20) and two Krayt Scales(+15).
There is an other way to do this and ill describe that one later, it involves the Peko Albatross Feathers.

Ok that gives us one arm piece with +50 health. And it only took three enhancers.

Well we are not home free yet, not by a long shot .

The pieces that require more than one core are the tricky ones. Remember the armor needed identical cores (simple when one was needed) but when more than one is needed it gets awkward because we also know that one core needs three segments. In order to make identical cores the segments we use have to be identical too.

Identical pieces explained:
To make identical pieces youll need a factory. The factory needs one "Schematic" which is made by instead of creating an item you create a "schematic" this means that you use one items worth of components and resources.

Back to the enhancers.
Now that we know how factories work we can look at how that affects us lets do some math, dont worry, its simple.

One chest piece needs 3 identical cores each of those needs three identical segments.
Allright, three cores, to make those identical we will need a fourth to make the factory schematic. To make those four cores we will need four times three segments, and one for the factory schematic. That is 13 segments. If we were to health enhance those we would need 13 identical health enhancers, where three of those added up yields 50 points. This is only achieaveable with the +20 NS layers.

BUT, we could be smart about this. Remember the cores needed similar segments, which means we can have three stacks of identical segments. This might not be cost effective if we had abundant amounts of identical health enhancers, but we all know that we dont, and that they are painfully expencive.
So, instead of one large stack of 12 segments plus one for factory schem we make three smaller stacks, all items in one stack being identical, but the stacks are just similar to eachother.

Now we need three stacks of 5 identical health enhancers. This is a larger amount, but three times 5 identical are easier to find than 13 identical.
Allright, the three stacks of 5 enhancers become three stacks of four segments. One segment from each stack is used to make the schematic core and the last three segments in each stack are used to make the three identical cores needed to make the health enhanced chest piece.

Feathers, the healthy alternative:
Oookay. If you are with me thus far you most likely just scrolled down to this part because it has a smiley. .

I mentioned another way to do this which required a peko feather. The feathers are added in the final combine, which means that they dont have anything to do with the cores. This again means that one feather can be directly added to the bonus of an allready made armor core.
In our example from above we would only need two stacks of five krayt scales(+15) instead of three stacks. We could also use Janta hides(+10) or Kraytscales(+10) and a feather to achieve the cap
Sadly only one feather per piece of armor is allowed, so you cant just add three feathers to one piece of armor.
Notice that this feather thingy greatly reduces the amount of enhancers needed, in the making of a chest piece one feather with +20 can substitute five NS layers of +20.

Conclusion
If you just came here to know why we smiths try to sneak out of making a health enhanced suit or charge exorbant fees for it you should begin reading now.
One suit of armor with +350 health enhancements require two stacks of 9 identical (+15) health enhancers and one stack of 9 identical (+20) health enhancers. Furthermore 8 similar (+15) and 4 similar (+20) enhancers are needed. This takes us atleast four factory runs to make and a lot of fiddling and clicking.

Total you would need to gather 26 (+15) and 13 (+20) health enhancers. You could trade the 9 identical (+20)'s for three (+20) peko feathers.

At this time i charge 100k per health enhanced piece i make, just to pay my medical expences for the shrink needed to unwind me after making such a suit. Some more suicidal smiths might do it for less.

Thank you for reading this, if you think i made an error or would like to comment on something please feel free.

Nice work there, I've developed a system where I have my most used crafting runs writen down in a book so when I need numbers of resources or ammounts to make with a schematic I just check the page I need. Definately gonna be adding this for reference to health enhancers, up until now i've only dabbled with them...

BTW can we get this added to the FAQ please...definately useful to point the customers to.

We noticed that 98% of the playerbase was going with one core choice,
so we have eliminated "paper" and "scissors" and are now offering a new,
exciting choice based on the iconic "Rock."
