Thread: Question On Layers Effecting Capped Base Resists

Okay so I got my non layered Recon to 7000 energy (the cap) and now trying layers. I'm having a hard time with layers though. I know each layer adds +100 to the cap making it a possible 8200 energy Recon cap, but how do I reach that? Do I Need Perfect Layers to make 8200? Or can I push above what is required to make 7000 to the unlayered stats to off set the non perfect layers to make 8200?
If this is the case I'm thinking I could use the bare minimum to make 7000 energy Recon and just use resource deeds to make the best energy layers possible and it will be the best anyone can make on my server... is this fact? Any help would rock, thanks.

The caps are hard caps as far as anyone knows. You definitely cannot exceed 7000 energy on unlayered recon armor. 100 is the maximum value for an energy layer, but it does take perfect resources to get there. No server had these resources before the 2 percent buff was put in. No one has reported that they've been able to hit 100 with the 2 percent buff either.

I've done 89 on my energy layers without the 2% buff. But i doubt that my layers will get to any more then perhaps 91 or maybe 92, depending. Either way, I think that's about the best anybody's done on wanderhome. not possitive, though, there sure arn't any capped suits that i've found yet(layered or unlayered) and with my 89's, i think my armor that i made came out to about 7900 or so, so 300 short of the cap)

When you make your layers, if you can get it to 100% experimentation, you'll have yourself some maxxed out +100 layers.
But no server has perfect resourcesfor 100% layers yet(oreven a98% resource combo for that matter because of the music buffs)
In other words, nobody has made pure8200 armor yet.
Thesetsyou occationally see with 8200+are sets that were made post-CU and sliced before the Smuggler Publish.
