Thread: Recon Armor with style?

kk, sorry to all your armorsmittys about trolling your forums, but i have to say that recon armor has no style.....I have, although been able to achievea decent amount of style by mixing up different styles of recon (ex: Tantel chest, arms; Mabari pants) but, one thing i have not been able to get around, is lack of choice for helmets.


It seems to me that the dev's have not put in very much thought into the appearence of helmets in general, there are a couple of cool ones, but most are a fashion faux pas.


I have certs for recon and assault in my temp, but comp armor helmets (not too bad on style) have horrible energy resists, the new bh helmets (makes you look like pumpkin head) again have bad energy resists, and the tantel, chitin, and mabari helmets are unthinkable to even comprehend that i would put such crap on my pretty little head.


Helmets, to me, make or break the whole style of your ensemble, and i can't figure out how to get around this problem. So i hearby petition we get some new skins for armor helmets.....


Oh, and ps. if any of you smittys have an idea of how i can get around this, plz speak out.

Speaking of new recon skins Scout Trooper isn't so bad but we reallymiss ReconMarauder (that was on TC-Ep3 btw).

Yes, i think it does too, but the problem is that it's battle armor, and thus does not go with my template.

But honestly we have enough other problems to worry about other than "All recon helmuts look stupid and are a Fashion faux pau" If you want all your outfits to be a fashion dream play Barbie. Most of the helmuts are pretty ugly (comp and faction are cool, well not marine armour) and they should stay that way. I mean if they are ugly and funky looking you could get te enemies to die laughing.

Hehe, time to learn to duck!

Well, one thing about the standard recon armors: ubese, tantel, and mabari armorweave are all straight from the movies, unlike many other creations. Not saying it's good or bad, but it is Star Warsy. Plus style is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I dig ubese.

hehe...nice.


ummm...yeah, pretty much all headwear in SWG sucks for some reason. Ubese is okay if you like to be human, but looks silly on anything else. But you're telling me Tantel doesn't do it for you? C'mon. Face mask of BONE! And you get like a cool farmers hat on top of that. But yeah...we need some better headwear. Like Padded? Or even Marauder? What were they thinking? It's like watching football(american) from the 50's.

i do remember the marauder recon on tc-ep3 tho.........'twood be awesome if they brought that into live......
