Ever notice the MAS who quote the stats of their armor, and mix the order of the stats based on which is highest? So when they quote the stats for Recon, they would say 7000/5000/6000.
To me it's plainly obvious that this sets up the customer for major confusion and misunderstanding, and is a cluster mess of doing things, and has nowbecome a pet peeve of mind.
Look atany pieceofarmor - it will always list Kinetic, then Energy, then Base. It never varies, so why do we as Smith's change the order around??
I believe we make a complicated situation worse by doing this.
Opinions?

I honestly never remember which is which. I think I always put kinetic first, but if you do it like this....
7000k/5000e/6000b you get rid of any confusion. Most people can figure out k=kinetic, e=energy, and they might not know b=base, but they can figure out that is the other resists.

I use 'Kin' for kinetic, 'Nrg' for energy and 'HCAE' (Heat/Cold/Acid/Elec) for the elemental resists. So, for example, capped unlayered recon armor would be 7000 Nrg/5000 Kin/6000 HCAE. I put energy first because I want the highest resist to be more prominent(on assault armor I put kinetic resists first).

I dunno...probably the same reason they advertise big names on movie posters more prominently. People are sometimes only interested in 1 thing. LIke BH's who want recon (who comprise a fair market share) only care about the energy resistance, and possibly condition. So I put the energy resistance first. Simple marketing tool. Don't see what the problem is.....

I always list the highest stat first, eg Energy for recon, as it's usually the stat that people are the most interested in. However, I do put K / E / SP abbreviations next to each stat to avoid this confusion, eg:
Recon: 7000E / 5000K / 6000SP
Assault: 7000K / 5000E / 6000SP
I just find this makes it easier for people browsing for armor.
