I agree.

Although I would choose Primus personally, 8000+has better appeal to most customers.

As both an Armorsmith and a Bounty Hunter I can say that Recon with 8k+ is nice to have.

i say a mix of 4:8 energyrimus ratio

8000 is definitely the magic number. I do lots of primus-layered battle and assault but I've yet to have a request for recon. Not that it wouldn't be excellent armor.

energy outsells primus layered recon by leaps and bounds providing it is 8k+

although my new fav is my 4x energy BH armor 5988kin/6112ener/6000 ...kinda nice to be able to play in a suit of BH armor that isn't totally hateful against lightsabers

my quad energy layered Recon armor is 7914 energy defence, and as a BH, that is definatly sweet to have.

What the hell will you do against a kinetic wep with 3-4k kinetic defence?

You'll die thats what you'll do, it's just foolish to have a massive weakspot.

Like riding a motorbike with a helmet but no pants.

Energy layered recon sells better, but then most people dont know what's good for them.

As a BH when on a mission vs a live Jedi.... energy is the only thing that matters. I'v yet to run into the kinetic lightsaber.

actually force powers are kinetic...but as primus layers lower the elemental resist you get a damage penalty from every single hit with primus. while you only "gain" advantage on jedi using a lot of force powers

so imo best options is still energy layered recon....I love my tantel set 8154 energy and 6000 base

best not to agro any mobs on you though with the super low kinetic protection that gives...

ah before I forget: even much more important than the rating is having the whole suit armour break slices at level 3...without it that 8100 gets reduced to less than 3000
