Hey all. I have been smithing (WS and AS) for quite some time now, but still encounter some problems. The problem that bothers me most concerns composite armor. Using all 900+ OQ and SR materials, with the exception of wooly (which is at usually around 800 OQ, 700 or 800 SR), I have never been able to make a set of 80/80/70 armor. I am using triple layers (the layers use all 900+ materials as well) and invest points in quality first to get the base up. Is the wooly hide causing me the problem by being only 800/800 rather than 900+/900+?

Thanks

The quick and dirty explanation is you need segments that are 35% base and all high quality resources. If your segments are almost that then yeah the hide is probably holding you back.

The single most important resource in crafting triple layered composite is the Colat armor, Known solid petro and intrusive are up there too.

The difference between 69%-70% armor is huge on the resources stats. Unless you are making triple electric layered comp then it is not worth the extra 1%.

If you are making triple layerd electric though there is a big difference between a 89%-90% slice!

Some of those 3% janta hides can come in handy for this armor.

Ah excellent. That must be it then, because my segments are usually 31 or 32. Now to search for better wooly!
