I'm just wondering, should I be getting mostly "great" results and only 1 or 2 "Amazing" results in say...15 - 20 tries?

Does this, as with everything else, depend on resource quality?

And, with armor experimentation tapes, do I get more exp points or just a higher chance at "amazing" success?

Thanks in advance guys!

Resource quality has alot to do with that. I fyou get Uber resources, you should get alot of Amazing successes.

Armor experimentation tapes give you more experimentation points, so you can do more.

I don't know if resource quality increases the rate of amazing successes. I don't think it does, but I don't have data saying one way or the other.

The armor experimentation tapes just add to your experiment points. Every +10 gives you an additional experiment point. The maximum is +25, which really means +20 is all you need for 2 additional points.

There are also tapes that add to armor assembly. In theory these should help reduce the number of crit fails during "assembly". The assembly stage is when you click the "Assemble" button after loading all the resources into the draft schematic (and before the "Experiment" menu pops up).

Some people feel the quality of the crafting station and crafting tool matter. I don't believe this and there certainly hasn't been any data to prove it. Of course I have high quality crafting tools anyway, because they didn't cost me anything... might as well use em

Player cities have modifiers you can use. A player city that is a "Manufacturing Center" is supposed to add to your roll on the assembly stage, thus reducing assembly crit fails. A "Research Center" adds to your roll on experiments, thus reducing crit fails on experiments (and increasing your odds of amazing success). A player city that is an "Industrial Society" is like a manufacturing center and a research center combined, making this the ideal location for crafting.

Some of the new foods help as well. Pyolian Cakes add to your assembly rolls, and there's another food (sorry forget the name atm) that adds to experiment rolls.

If you are custom crafting something using rare components (such as lightsabers with crystals/pearls or RIS components or nightsister shards) you should do this in a manufacturing center after eating pyolian cakes to reduce your chance of assembly crit fails (and therefore losing the rare component).

If you are trying to make an uber schematic, do so in a research center after eating the +experiment food to try and maximize your chance of amazing successes. This will be even more important after the next publish when amazing successes are supposed to let you experiment to a level higher than your resources.

Believe the drink is called Bespin Port. Used it and love it.. no more of the nasty so called "moderate successes and good successes"

Good post Ox-!
