Well I went into TC4 obviously to start poking about. Well first of all I noticed that for what ever reason I was able to reject a respec, and keep novice rifleman even though it now puts me at -2 skill points.
I also noticed that once i was able to find a weapon I could actually wield (I have now gone from being able to use T-21s and the like. To only being able to use a spray stick. All my laser rifles are also now only useable my master riflemen weee) I no longer had anything to fear from those horrible durnies.
Everything else though that aggros me is kicking my ass even with armor on. But anyway if you can some how retain even just the novice box of an advanced profession on average most of the stuff you run into on naboo and the like seems to be not -too- hard to deal with... now to check out dathomir. Afterall we will have to use gravetronic fiberplast and all the like

Well for anyone that cares here's the end result. I drove to and back from the FS village and around the area in general. I got hit a total of 5 times by melee attackers as a level 14 combatant. Taking on average about 4-800 damage per attack - armor which didnt really reduce all that much. (On a 780 damage hit it absorbed about 180 points of kinetic damage)
On the upside everything on dathomir now seems to be only a melee combatant? Used to be I'd usually get shot at abit too. but on dathomir not a single thing shot at me. And generally I could take the one or two hits I'd get melee side while I drove my AV-21 past or through a group of agros. So while they will still be a pain. More or less it seems quite possible to continue mining on Dathomir with about the same level of risk as we had before. Because even without the armor I'd still have survived at least one hit.
At least that aspect. Doesnt appear to have been as bad as I'd orrigionally anticipated. Of that. i am rather glad.

Dath hasnt been changed to the new combat system. Do attack a nightsister and see. I spent 20 minutes trying to kill a NS ranger with my TKM while she danced in front of me.

The idea wasnt to attack nightsisters though. The idea was to see if a crafter out surveying etc could actually effectively RUN AWAY. There is no way in hell in pre or post CU that a Master AS/Master Artisan/Master Merchant/Novice rifleman (in my case anyway) could take on an NS and win even buffed. Such obviously remains the same way in post CU.
Though you can bet I'll be trying this again after they 'rebalance' Dathomir.
